Job Description

  • Be a part a large-scale program of work that has high visibility across the business
  • Permanent role based at our Head Office in Mascot
  • Help shape the future of Qantas and deliver exceptional value to our customers

At Qantas, we’re committed to creating an environment where our people can thrive. We take pride in solving complex challenges together, supporting each other, and delivering safe and reliable operations for our customers. You’ll be part of a team that values initiative, collaboration and continuous improvement.

As a Technical Product Owner, you'll drive technology transformation at the heart of our frontline operations. You'll provide a single point of accountability for the products, platforms, and services that empower our airport and cabin crew teams, from employee-facing digital experiences through to the backend systems and integrations that keep operations running seamlessly.

Working across multiple delivery teams and vendor partners, and collaborating closely with Product Owners, fellow Technical Product Owners, and business stakeholders, you'll translate strategic priorities into outcome-focused technology roadmaps that simplify processes, remove operational friction, and enable our frontline teams to focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences.

You'll be a true business partner and technology leader, confident in communicating, influencing, and negotiating with both business stakeholders and purely technical team members to deliver products that are secure, resilient, and built for impact. You'll bring strong product management capabilities and a service delivery mindset, with accountability for service quality and operational stability, including IT risk and compliance management, continuous service improvement and innovation, and supplier performance.

You’ll Have

  • 7–10 years' experience as a senior IT business partner and/or IT manager, accountable for a portfolio of business-facing, operational applications, with end-to-end accountability across application delivery, implementation, and run.

  • Expert stakeholder management across both business and technical functions, building and maintaining trusted relationships.

  • Equally comfortable engaging software engineers on technical architecture and documentation and explaining that detail in clear, plain language to non-technical audiences.

  • Strong financial management, commercial and business acumen.

Why Qantas?

If you’re successful in your application, you’ll join a team where creativity and passion are encouraged. Our people come together to allow us to dream big and deliver successfully.

There are many different opportunities across our team, which means you’ll be able to grow both personally and professionally at Qantas. Your development is a priority for us – so that you can maintain the high standards our customers have come to expect and can continue to develop over time. You’ll be supported from day 1 with on the job training and coaching as well as our formal training opportunities. While you may start in this role, we’ve got a great track record of supporting our people to take their career in so many different directions, the destinations are endless.

The Qantas employee benefits program offers amazing benefits that extend well beyond travel.

  • We love to travel:Enjoy discounted air travel within Australia and across the globe, both for you and your family and friends, as well as exclusive deals on accommodation and holidays.
  • We have flexible leave options: Make use of leave and flexible working opportunities including 18 weeks paid parental leave and additional purchased leave options.
  • We’ll give you access to thousands of rewards: Through our partnerships we can offer you discounts across shopping, food and wine, insurance, health and wellbeing, leisure and entertainment. You can also take advantage of our salary packaging for everything from motor vehicles to electronic devices.
  • We’ll support your wellbeing: Whether its learning to better support your own and others’ mental health, our interactive wellbeing app or your very own tailored nutrition plan.

Qantas is an equal opportunity employer, so by coming to work for us, you’ll be part of an organisation that encourages diversity, supports charities and environmental initiatives. We encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, and people of all backgrounds to apply.
