ING Australia is seeking a Technology Risk Manager, where you’ll play a pivotal role in safeguarding our customers and the bank by ensuring strong control over key IT risks. In this role, you’ll work closely with business and delivery teams to understand how technology operates in practice, apply professional risk judgement, and form clear risk position.
You’ll own and drive technology risk identification and assessment, manage technology issues and events end‑to‑end, and provide practical, trusted risk advice to stakeholders. By embedding strong risk practices, uplifting control quality, and nurturing effective relationships, you’ll help ING deliver reliable, secure, and innovative services to our customers.

What you’ll do …
Own and drive technology risk identification and assessment across BAU and Change.
Form and articulate clear technology risk positions, supporting informed decision making.
Manage IT risks to support the organization manage risk within appetite.
Manage or facilitate risk discussions and workshops, working closely with stakeholders and SMEs.
Drive the timely remediation of risk gaps by formalizing and monitoring remediation actions.
Raise, manage and progress technology risk issues and events through to closure.
Anticipate and assess emerging risks to support a strong control environment.
Work closely with Line 2 Risk and Audit teams, partnering on risk activities and audit outcomes to ensure alignment, quality and effective closure.
What we’re looking for...
Experience in technology risk (5+ years) with a solid understanding of technology environments.
Good understanding of technology and security controls.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements, particularly within a regulated environment (e.g. APRA prudential standards – CPS230, CPS234)
Ability to apply professional judgement to identify, assess and articulate technology risks.
Strong capability in documenting clear risk positions, including risks, impacts, mitigations.
Comfort working across BAU and Change, engaging with delivery teams to understand how technology operates and how risk evolves.
Excellent stakeholder‑management and collaboration skills, with the ability to build trust, work across functions/geographies, and influence outcomes.
High integrity, analytical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate organizational dynamics while applying the Non-Financial Risk Framework.
