Strathfield Private is a teaching hospital for Sydney University, conveniently located 200 metres from Strathfield Train Station. Our facilities encompass 84 beds, 9 operating theatres, 1 endoscopy suite, 1 cardiac catheterisation lab, a 10 bed Intensive Care Unit and a Day Surgery Unit. We also have onsite radiology, pathology, café and specialist consulting suites.

Job Description

We are seeking a Theatre Wardsman Orderly to join our team at Strathfield Private Hospital on a casual basis. This position encompasses working within a dedicated team to provide safe transfer of patients to and from the operating theatre, demonstrating commitment to quality patient care and providing support to the nursing staff within the perioperative environment.

Your duties in this role will include:

  • Safe transfer of patients to and from the operating theatre
  • Provide safe effective patient handling and positioning.
  • Setting up of theatres
  • Maintaining a safe patient environment including the setup and cleaning of theatres during procedures
  • Providing support to the nursing staff

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will be a reliable and compassionate team member with a strong commitment to patient safety and quality care. You will work effectively within a team to support safe patient transfers to and from the operating theatre, while assisting nursing staff in a fast-paced environment.

You will also bring:

  • Theatre Orderly experience within the Health Care Industry - (Desirable)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work effective within a team environment and independently
  • Availability for a range of shifts across a 7-day rotating roster
  • A strong willingness to learn and develop a working knowledge of hospital procedures
  • Motivated and positive with a high level of attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of manual handling and infection control procedures

Additional Information
