Job Description

The Senior Manager, Technology Third Party Risk Management will be part of the Strategy and Planning Team function within the Technology Business Unit and will lead the execution of Technology Vendor Management strategy as well as and leading a team of platform coordinators and analysts.
 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead centralised sourcing for Technology across new initiatives, renewals and transformations by partnering with the Enterprise Sourcing Team and relevant stakeholders across Technology Business Unit.
  • Conduct market analysis and commercial risk assessments to support sourcing decisions.
  • Support Business owner in negotiating commercial for Technology along with the Enterprise Sourcing Team to deliver the planned outcomes.
  • Initiate renegotiations of existing agreements with the vendors to drive increased value and benefits for TAL.
  • Develop and execute strategies in cooperation with the Technology stakeholders to reduce technology costs, while maintaining or improving capabilities, with at least 20% targets for cost reduction through elimination of redundancies and strategic alignment.
  • Consolidate the minor sourcing activities to deliver better outcomes for Technology both commercially and operationally.
  • Analyse the software license usage and consumption to identify opportunities for optimisation, cost reduction, or reallocation to higher-value areas.
  • Collaborate closely with the business and technology leaders to ensure technology cost optimisation efforts are aligned with the overall business and technology strategies.
  • Input ongoing initiatives to simplify and optimise the technology landscape with a focus on driving convergence, simplification and modernisation opportunities.
  • Uplift the Tech Vendor Relationship Management and Governance framework to support delivery and operations, including vendor performance and service improvements.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, service providers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate across the Technology Teams to achieve the agreed outcomes, provide expert advice on procurement strategies, and contribute to the broader unit issues.
  • Lead the Vendor Tech & Cyber risk assessments along with the Line 1 Tech & Cyber Risk Team.
  • Develop metrics and reporting to track progress on cost optimisation, value realisation initiatives, performance and service improvements.
  • Manage a team of Platform Coordinators, supporting them to carry out platform support activities such as resource tracking/onboarding/offboarding, operational compliance support, end to contract management and financial management activities such as invoicing, receipt accruals and reconciliation..

Qualifications

  • Ability to manage complex technical procurements, including hardware, software, and services, is crucial.
  • Strong communication skills for engaging various stakeholders, including influencing and negotiating with vendors an stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes and deliver non-negotiables.
  • Ability to solve problems analytically as well as plan, prioritise, and deliver results within set timeframes and budgets,
  • including managing procurement and contract management processes.
  • Ability to perform cost analysis to evaluate whether a quoted price is fair and reasonable, including assessing the cost of materials and identifying non-value-added costs to reduce overhead.
  • Experience in preparing a negotiation strategy, including setting clear goals and understanding risk limitations and delivering desired outcomes.
  • Self-starter with strong organisational skills in a highly-adaptive and a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer-oriented mindset and ability to apply collaborative approach to achieving business outcomes.
  • Thinker and doer with a pragmatic approach to make decisions and at the same time focused on outcomes.
  • Ability to lead and motivate both direct and indirect team members, and manage a developing team
