Are you interested in financial markets, AI and computer programming? Do you enjoy solving complex problems, building tools, automation, and analysis? If you like the idea of working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, then you might be the next Trading Analyst at Optiver!

We are looking for an experienced and talented AI specialist Trading Analyst to join our Trading Analyst team. You will bring your technical expertise to enhance the Trading Analyst team whilst also working closely with trading, research and developer teams to solve complex trading problems, analyse the markets we trade and the strategies we use to generate innovate trading ideas. In addition, you will build tools and systems to evolve the team’s trading and operations.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Design, build and deploy AI-powered agents that augment traders’ decision-making, automate repeatable workflows, and enable our trading to operate more efficiently and at greater scale.
  • Develop intelligent automation for traders via scripting APIs, embedding AI agents directly into day-to-day trading workflows.
  • Drive data insights by owning and evolving data pipelines to analyse market behaviour and inform systematic and discretionary trading strategies.
  • Create intuitive dashboards and visualisation tools (using Dash, Excel/VBA, Svelte, etc.) that deliver real-time analytics, directly support trading decisions on the floor, generate actionable insights and track key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with traders, researchers, developers and external partners to continuously improve and optimise our trading strategies and operational processes.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • 3+ years’ experience in an equivalent role highly desirable
  • A strong quantitative background (a degree in math, science, technology, actuarial studies, or finance)
  • Proficient in Python, SQL, and Excel/VBA
  • Strong interest and experience with AI
  • Strong numerical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • A demonstrated passion for trading
  • Willingness to learn new technologies, navigate frequent change, and contribute to a high-performance environment

What you'll get:

You’ll join a culture of collaboration and excellence, where you’ll be surrounded by curious thinkers and problem solvers. Driven by a passion for continuous improvement, you’ll thrive in a supportive, high-performing environment alongside talented colleagues, working collectively to tackle some of the most complex problems in the financial markets.

In return for your expertise, you will have access to a range of Optiver perks, including:

  • A performance-based bonus structure unmatched anywhere in the industry. We combine our profits across desks, teams, and offices into a global profit pool, fostering a truly collaborative environment.
  • The chance to work alongside diverse and intelligent peers in a rewarding environment.
  • Training, mentorship and personal development opportunities.
  • Daily breakfast, lunch and an in-house barista.
  • Gym membership plus weekly in-house chair massages.
  • Regular social events, including a company trip every two years.
  • Guided relocation, a competitive relocation package and visa sponsorship where necessary.

Diversity statement

Optiver is committed to diversity and inclusion. We encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds, and welcome requests for reasonable adjustments during the process.
