Sales Associate

Location: North Sydney, NSW

Work Type: Full-time, permanent

Work Arrangement: Hybrid working model, with a minimum of 2 days per week in our North Sydney office.

About the Role

As a Sales Associate, you'll help organisations identify solutions that support their business objectives and improvement goals.

You'll work with both new and existing customers, building relationships, understanding their challenges, and helping connect them with the right solutions.

This role combines relationship building, customer engagement, business development, and solution selling. Every day is different, and you'll have the opportunity to engage with organisations across a wide range of industries.

You'll be supported by experienced colleagues who will help you develop your sales, business development, and customer engagement skills.

Key Responsibilities

Customer & Business Development

  • Engage with existing and prospective customers via phone, email, and virtual meetings

  • Build strong relationships and understand customer needs and objectives

  • Generate and qualify new business opportunities

  • Identify opportunities to grow existing customer relationships

  • Follow up enquiries and sales opportunities in a timely manner

  • Support customers throughout the sales journey

  • Achieve individual and team sales targets

Solution Selling

  • Ask effective questions to understand customer challenges and priorities

  • Match customer needs with appropriate solutions

  • Prepare proposals and recommendations with support from the wider team

  • Confidently communicate the benefits and value of our products and services

  • Handle customer questions and objections professionally

  • Identify opportunities for future engagement and long-term partnerships

Pipeline & CRM Management

  • Maintain accurate customer records and activity in our CRM system

  • Manage leads, opportunities, and follow-up activities

  • Maintain a healthy and active sales pipeline

  • Support forecasting and reporting activities

  • Ensure customer information is recorded accurately and consistently

Learning & Development

  • Develop knowledge of BSI's products, services, and value proposition

  • Learn how organisations use our solutions to improve performance and achieve their goals

  • Build an understanding of market trends and customer needs

  • Continuously develop your sales, communication, and business development skills

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities

  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn

  • Confidence speaking with customers over the phone

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

  • Self-motivation and a proactive approach

  • Ability to work towards goals and performance targets

  • Professionalism, integrity, and a customer-focused mindset

Desirable but Not Essential

  • Experience in retail sales

  • Customer service experience

  • Hospitality experience

  • Recruitment or contact centre experience

  • Business administration or account coordination experience

  • Previous sales experience

  • A university degree, TAFE qualification, or equivalent experience
