We have an exciting opportunity at nbn for a Treasury Operations Manager, reporting to the Assistant Treasurer – Funding and Operations.
A bit about your role
This role sits at the heart of nbn’s Treasury function, ensuring the accuracy, integrity and continuity of critical financial operations. This role, working alongside a collaborative team, is responsible for managing Back Office function, including Treasury settlements, payments and confirmations, supporting the smooth execution of high-value and complex funding activities across the organisation.
You will work closely with Treasury Front Office and Middle Office teams, the role contributes to the operational delivery of Debt Capital Markets issuances, commercial paper programs and bank funding processes. There is a strong partnership element, supporting the end-to-end Treasury lifecycle while ensuring alignment to established controls, policies and governance frameworks, and improving the operational efficiency of Treasury processes.
Alongside core operations, the role supports the preparation of Treasury reporting and compliance documentation, sustainable financing, and contributes to financial modelling, analysis and broader Treasury initiatives. It also plays a meaningful part in strengthening how Treasury services are delivered, contributing to continuous improvement and the future evolution of the function.
A bit about you
You bring hands-on experience in Treasury operations, ideally within a large corporate, banking or similarly complex environment, and are confident managing large volumes of back-office settlements and payments with accuracy in a timely manner. You understand the importance of precision when working with large-scale, time-critical cash flows and bring experience using Treasury Management Systems such as Quantum, or comparable platforms. You demonstrate a good understanding of financial instruments (such as bank facilities, bonds, commercial papers, interest rate and FX hedging instruments) and able to communicate effectively with all stakeholders and counterparty banks.
Your approach is collaborative, and you value working closely with others to deliver shared outcomes. You build strong, trusted relationships across teams and take pride in contributing to an environment where people support one another and deliver to a consistently high standard. You are curious and open to learning, with a genuine interest in deepening your expertise across Treasury. You operate with a calm and considered mindset, balancing attention to detail with a broader understanding of how your work contributes to the organisation’s long-term success.
