We are seeking a UX & Content Designer to join BDO's Information Technology team on a 2-year max-term contract, helping shape and enhance the experience of Global Portal, BDO's client collaboration platform.

This role can be based in our Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth or Sydney offices, working as part of a nationally connected team.

Reporting to the Global Portal Product Manager, you will combine user research, experience design and content design expertise to understand user needs, identify opportunities for improvement and influence the evolution of the platform. Working closely with technology, product and business stakeholders, you'll help create intuitive, accessible and effective digital experiences that improve how BDO teams and clients collaborate.

About the Team

As part of the Global Portal product team, you'll help deliver and continuously improve BDO's secure client collaboration platform. Global Portal enables BDO teams and clients to securely share information, manage requests, collaborate on engagements and access key documents in one place.

You'll join a collaborative team focused on innovation, user experience and continuous improvement, working closely with stakeholders across Australia and the broader global network.

About the Opportunity

In this role, you'll:

  • Conduct user research through interviews, surveys, usability testing and feedback analysis.
  • Identify user needs, pain points and opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain user personas, journey maps and experience artefacts, and use UX audits, feedback and behavioural insights to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Translate insights into user journeys, wireframes, prototypes and experience concepts.
  • Improve content, navigation, onboarding resources and support experiences across the platform.
  • Enhance information architecture to improve usability and content discoverability.
  • Partner with product, technology and business stakeholders to deliver user-centred solutions.
  • Analyse user feedback and behavioural data to inform continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Champion accessibility, usability and best-practice UX and content design principles.
  • Contribute Australian user insights to local and global platform initiatives.

 About You

You are passionate about understanding user behaviour and improving digital experiences. You enjoy combining research, design thinking and problem-solving to create solutions that balance user needs with business objectives.

You will also bring:

  • Experience in UX Design, Content Design, Service Design, Digital Experience or a similar role.
  • Experience conducting user research and translating findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, user flows or journey maps.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
  • A practical, evidence-based approach to problem solving.
  • Experience working collaboratively across product, technology and business teams.

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • Qualifications in UX Design, Human-Centred Design, Service Design, Digital Design or a related discipline.
  • Experience improving client-facing or enterprise digital platforms.
  • Experience using Figma (not essential but highly regarded)
  • Experience with content design, information architecture or digital support experiences.
  • Experience optimising SharePoint-based help centres, hubs, onboarding resources or digital support experiences (not essential but highly regarded)

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys advocating for users, influencing digital experiences and contributing to the ongoing evolution of a platform used by both BDO teams and clients.
