Meet the Family Law team

Family Law is a division of LEAP Legal Software which specialises in software solutions for our Family Law vertical. This is a one-of-a-kind team paving the way for a new structure in LEAP which focuses on tailored products for specific verticals of law. This team includes experienced legal professionals, developers, designers, and client-focused operational experts. We have in-house Australian Family Lawyers who are the experts in guiding the direction that our products take, along with a mature client feedback function.

What you'll do

You will be the first dedicated designer embedded in our Family Law team. This is a rare opportunity to shape a well-established product suite while bringing fresh thinking to a complex and evolving space. You will own design end to end, from early discovery through to polished UI and developer handoff. Working closely with Product, Engineering, and our Global Design team, you will turn strategic ideas and whitepapers into thoughtful, practical solutions that support real legal professionals in their day-to-day work.

To make this happen, you will:

  • Design end-to-end user experience and interfaces that balance user needs and business goals.
  • Translate requirements into user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and polished UI designs.
  • Apply strong problem-solving skills to simplify complex workflows and systems.
  • Collaborate with PMs and engineers to ensure designs are feasible and impactful.
  • Conduct or support user research, user testing and feedback sessions to refine designs.
  • Work within and contribute to our design system, ensuring consistency across the product.
  • Participate in design critiques and workshops, sharing feedback and collaborating with peers.
  • Take ownership of user experience and product features, from discovery through to delivery.

What you'll bring

  • 3+ years of experience in UI/UX design with a strong portfolio of digital product work.
  • Ability to design clear, effective user flows and interfaces.
  • Solid understanding of UI/UX fundamentals, accessibility, and usability principles.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard tools (e.g., Figma) and familiarity with prototyping.
  • Consider it a bonus if you have experience designing for enterprise software or complex digital systems.

You are the type of person who

  • Has strong problem-solving skills – you can untangle complexity and propose scalable solutions.
  • Is a strong communicator - you can explain design decisions to team members clearly.
  • Has a collaborative mindset – you are comfortable working with PMs, engineers, and stakeholders.
  • Is curious and takes initiative to grow your product strategy skills while taking ownership of design outcomes.

LEAP is an inclusive, people-first company committed to breaking down institutional barriers that keep people from reaching their potential. If you meet some, but not all the requirements above, we encourage you to still submit your application.

Why join LEAP?

  • Your work matters. Helping lawyers help people sits at the heart of everything we do. We solve real world problems that improve and support local, everyday law firms. So they can do their best work for the people in the communities they serve.

  • Work with a group of authentic, passionate people who love what they do.
  • Flexible and hybrid working. We'd like to find this person in Sydney, but we want you to work in a way that suits you and we're open to flexible arrangements that support you.

There are opportunities galore to expand your career based on where your interests lie.
