The Wholesale Sales Lead will drive new customer acquisitions for Macquarie Data Centres, focusing on SaaS, multinational corporations, and local enterprises, while managing channel partners and existing customer contracts.

The Opportunity

- You will be an integral member within the growing Macquarie Data Centres company reporting directly to the VP of Sales. As a Sales Expert you will identify, develop, and sign new customers to the Macquarie Data Centre business.
- The position's primary focus is to drive net new acquisitions, specifically targeting international SaaS, multinational corporations, and local enterprises with significant data centre needs.
- The role has key responsibilities in managing external channel partners and retaining and growing a small number of existing customer contracts.
- You have an understanding of the Data Centre Industry and you've learned that you can deliver results through relentless sales hunting combined with creating value for your clients.
What you'll be doing
- Develop targeted prospect plans around select storage and high-performance compute hungry global SaaS, wholesale, and MNC’s companies in the data centre ecosystem
- Ensure effective use of the CRM and relevant client / sales / marketing systems
- Lead RFP and RFI responses - leveraging and coordinating resources across operations, commercial, technical design, and security.
- Partner with the technical and engineering team to develop and present solutions
- Engage with Channel Partners to assist in identifying and prosecuting prospects
- Use the defined sales process to deliver consistent and repeatable results
- Manage your pipeline through the effective recording of interactions and planning through the company CRM
- Manage and report on your pipeline, forecasts, and results to the leadership team
- Act as an escalation point for prospect and customer issues, taking ownership of problem resolution
- Partner with the operations team and virtual team to ensure smooth customer outcomes
- As a key leader within the Data Centres Business Unit, work with your colleagues to develop their skills and boost the culture of the team
Your ideal skills and experience
- Undergraduate degree in business / technology or related field
- A student of the industry – excited about Data Centres and AI
- Minimum 8-10 years sales experience, ideally in Data Centres or related technology sales
- Previous experience selling Data Centre services between 100 kw & up to 750 kw is desirable
- Track record of exceeding sales targets and KPIs
- Experience in a senior sales role in a fast paced technology organisation
