THE ROLE

As WHS Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in driving a proactive safety culture. You will lead and collaborate with all levels of management, employees, and stakeholders to implement safety strategies and build the strong relationships necessary to deliver exceptional health and safety outcomes across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Guide management and staff in adopting and executing relevant safety initiatives.

  • Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a key point of contact for internal and external partners to ensure alignment on safety goals.

  • Relationship Management: Build trust and rapport across the organization to foster a collaborative approach to WHS.

  • Continuous Improvement: Drive better health and safety outcomes through consistent engagement and support.


In particular, 

  • Maintain and update our existing  Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) management systems including policies, procedures, and online system nationally to ensure Legislative compliance and effective utilisation of resources.
  • Identify appropriate measurement / reporting for organisational WHS performance and compliance, and implement processes for ongoing self-monitoring and audits;

  • Identify enhancements in our WHS compliance training and oversee delivery of training to  managers, employees and contractors;

  • Oversee Workers Compensation and RTW processes and obligations; and

  • Complete periodic reporting for a range of stakeholders.

     

     

THE CANDIDATE

Reporting to the General Manager of Human Resources, you will need to work autonomously  with a critical eye and pragmatic approach, whilst contributing to broader HR team outcomes.

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum 5 years' experience developing and supporting WHS & compliance nationally (across all states/multiple locations)
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Tertiary qualifications in WHS or related field:
  • Experience with Quality/ ISO accreditations; and preferably certified as an internal auditor
  • Strong ability to influence and lead safety conversations at all levels, with ability to bridge the gap between management and operational teams.
