The Post-Production Services (PPS) Consultant is an experienced professional in Workday post-production, who is familiar with consulting practice.
This role provides staff augmentation by placing experienced Workday resources into client HR or Finance teams. They support the client’s workload, fill capability gaps, and build trust by being reliable and easy to work with. As a Workday PPS Consultant, they will bring their technical skills (Workday HCM, Compensation, Talent, Recruiting, etc.), ability to keep the business context in sight, and a roll-up-your-sleeves work ethic to a team with a positive, can-do attitude, a collaborative culture, and a passion for helping our clients to be successful.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver reliable day‑to‑day Workday support by owning Tier 2/3 issues, BAU activities, backlog reduction, and enhancements end‑to‑end so client teams can get their work done.

  • Build trust through consistency by acting as a stable, long‑term extension of the client’s HR, Finance, or IT stakeholders and communicating clearly on progress, risks, and priorities.

  • Grow capability while keeping the work engaging by building deep Workday expertise across HCM and related modules and applying new releases in live client environments.

  • Protect delivery quality and grow Cognizant capability by absorbing complex BAU work from project teams and contributing to sustainable onshore talent development.

  • Act as the client’s link into PPS by working closely with SDMs to align needs across AMS, CVS, and staff augmentation and ensuring clean hand‑offs where required.

  • Strengthen PPS as a credible, scalable service by representing Cognizant well inside client organisations and sharing knowledge, patterns, and ways of working across the practice.

Duties & Tasks:

  • Deliver day‑to‑day Workday support for assigned clients, primarily in staff augmentation roles, with occasional ad‑hoc support or project involvement where agreed.

  • Own Tier 2/3 functional issues and enhancements end‑to‑end, from problem definition through configuration, testing, deployment, and stabilisation.

  • Work directly with client HR, Finance, and IT stakeholders to gather requirements, discuss options, agree on pragmatic designs, and deliver fit‑for‑purpose solutions in Workday.

  • Apply Workday best practices sensibly, balancing standard approaches with client context rather than forcing unnecessary redesign.

  • Facilitate knowledge transfer with client teams, helping them understand solutions, build confidence, and become more self‑sufficient over time.

  • Maintain strong functional expertise in Workday HCM and build working knowledge across Compensation, Payroll, Talent, Recruiting, Absence, and related areas based on client needs.

  • Stay current with Workday releases and product direction and apply relevant changes in live client environments.

  • Act as a visible and professional representative of Cognizant within client organisations, reinforcing trust and credibility through consistent delivery.

  • Collaborate closely with PPS SDMs to align work with AMS and CVS services, support clean hand‑offs, and surface follow‑on opportunities or risks early.

  • Mentor junior consultants and support the development of sustainable onshore capability within Cognizant.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Workday consultant or a Workday lead in a client environment.

  • Strong hands‑on experience with Workday HCM, plus exposure to areas such as Compensation, Talent, Recruiting, Payroll, and Absence.

  • Comfortable going deep into the detail, while still understanding the bigger picture.

  • Clear communicator who can explain options, trade‑offs, and outcomes in plain language.

  • Confident working directly with clients and managing expectations day to day.

  • Organised, analytical, and able to juggle multiple priorities without constant supervision.
