Job Description

Autobarn is seeking a commercially minded Workforce Planner to join our Retail Operations team in a newly created role supporting 108 company-owned stores across Australia.

This is more than a traditional rostering position. You'll drive workforce planning, labour optimisation, productivity analysis, forecasting, and time & motion studies that directly influence operational performance across the business.

Working closely with Operations, Finance, Payroll, People & Culture and Store Leadership, you'll establish workforce planning frameworks, develop labour standards, and provide data-driven insights that help leaders make smarter workforce decisions.

This is a unique opportunity to build capability from the ground up and make a genuine impact across one of Australia's largest automotive retail networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop labour forecasts and workforce plans aligned to demand, budgets and business objectives.
  • Analyse workforce trends, labour performance, and productivity across 108 stores.
  • Partner with operational leaders to improve labour utilisation and rostering effectiveness.
  • Conduct time & motion studies and establish labour benchmarks.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and workforce deployment.
  • Deliver workforce reporting, dashboards, and insights to support decision-making.
  • Support workforce planning for budgeting, major trading events, and new store initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement across workforce planning and labour management practices.

Qualifications

You'll be analytical, commercially minded, and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • Experience in workforce planning, workforce analytics, labour management, or rostering.
  • Experience with labour modelling, productivity analysis, or time & motion studies.
  • Exposure to large-scale, multi-site retail, service, or operational environments.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Experience with UKG/Kronos or similar workforce management systems.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and a passion for solving business challenges through data.
