Works Supervisor – Northern NSW Region (Alstonville Office & Site Work)
Location: Ballina → Tweed Heads → Casino Region, with the Office based at Alstonville, NSW

Purpose of the Role

BGIS is seeking an experienced Works Supervisor to lead and coordinate residential maintenance and construction works across Northern NSW.

Reporting to the Contract Operations Manager, you will oversee subcontractor and Self-Perform works, ensuring projects meet contractual standards, timelines, and quality expectations. You will play a key role in team leadership, stakeholder communication, and delivering excellent service to tenants and clients.

The ideal candidate is collaborative, approachable, and technically skilled, with a strong understanding of trade sequencing, project delivery, and team management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day delivery of maintenance services across multiple sites.
  • Coordinate and monitor subcontractors, ensuring compliance with contracts, OH&S, and quality standards.
  • Communicate effectively with tenants, clients, and project teams.
  • Prepare inspection and test plans and undertake final inspections.
  • Conduct regular assessments of subcontractor performance and provide detailed reports.
  • Monitor financial expenditure and project KPIs to maximise value and quality.
  • Promote and adhere to BGIS’s quality, safety, and business systems.

Education, Experience & Skills

Essential:

  • Trade qualification or technical expertise in building-related professions.
  • Proven experience in domestic building, maintenance, or project supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of work planning, scheduling, and subcontractor management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Competence in OH&S compliance and statutory obligations.

Desirable:

  • Experience with project management and sequencing of trades.
  • Previous experience working with small, diverse teams.
  • Ability to work independently while fostering a positive team environment.

Workplace Flexibility

This role involves travel across sites in the Northern NSW region (Ballina → Tweed Heads → Casino), with the office based in Alstonville. Vehicle, fuel card, iPad, laptop, phone, PPE, and uniform are provided.
