Kick‑start your cloud career and help shape the future of Tech!
As a Graduate Cloud Associate, you’ll work alongside experienced Cloud and DevOps professionals to design, build and optimise cloud environments for real customers. You’ll gain hands‑on experience across AWS, Azure, automation tools and modern platforms — all while learning best practices that set you up for a long-term career in cloud engineering.
This role is perfect for curious problem solvers who love technology, enjoy learning new tools, and want to make a real impact from day one.
Our Why
Datacom works with organisations and communities across Australia and New Zealand to make a difference in people’s lives and help organisations use the power of tech to innovate and grow.
What you'll be doing
As part of our cloud team, you’ll:
- Support customers to build, migrate and optimise cloud environments using AWS and/or Azure.
- Help resolve technical incidents and service requests, investigating issues and learning how to troubleshoot cloud-based systems.
- Learn and apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to automate and standardise deployments.
- Assist with cloud migrations, automation and DevOps workflows, including CI/CD pipelines.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of coding, implementation and design standards.
- Participate in planning and delivery of work packages, tracking progress and celebrating wins.
- Create and maintain documentation such as solution designs, test plans and support guides.
- Get hands-on with automation, orchestration and modern toolchains that power scalable systems.
- Collaborate with teammates, mentors and customers to continuously learn and improve.
We’re not expecting you to know everything — we’re looking for potential, curiosity and a willingness to learn.
You’ll thrive in this role if you have:
- A degree or relevent qualification in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure through study, labs, projects or internships.
- A basic understanding of scripting or coding (e.g. PowerShell, Python, or similar).
- Familiarity with concepts like DevOps, CI/CD, containers or automation — even at a foundational level.
- Interest in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible or GitHub.
- Curiosity about AI tools and prompt engineering, and how they can enhance productivity.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive mindset.
- Good communication skills and the ability to learn collaboratively.
