Why this role matters

Are you a high-performing enterprise sales professional who knows how to build trusted relationships, navigate complex sales cycles and win strategic deals?

Objective is seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Account Director to accelerate growth across Victoria & NSW within our Planning & Building Solutions portfolio.

You’ll own the end-to-end sales lifecycle, developing new opportunities, growing existing accounts and building strategic relationships with senior stakeholders. You’ll be supported by experienced Presales, Product and Customer Success teams, giving you the expertise and solutions needed to deliver meaningful customer outcomes and win business.

Government sales experience is essential. Experience in  Australian local government is highly advantageous, but not essential. We’re interested in strong enterprise sales professionals who understand public-sector buying environments and can build credibility with senior decision-makers.

Your day to day focus:

  • Drive Enterprise Growth: Own the end-to-end sales lifecycle across the territory, securing high-value renewals, strategic upsells and new SaaS acquisitions.
  • Engage Executive Stakeholders: Build trusted, consultative relationships with Council CEOs, Directors of Planning, regulatory leaders and other senior government stakeholders.
  • Develop Strategic Opportunities: Identify customer needs, develop account strategies and progress complex, high-value sales opportunities.
  • Lead Consultative Sales: Understand business challenges and articulate how Objective’s solutions deliver measurable value.
  • Collaborate to Win: Partner closely with Presales, Product, Marketing and Customer Success to shape tailored solutions that address customer challenges.
  • Shape the Roadmap: Bring market insights, customer feedback and regulatory developments back to product teams to help inform future innovation.

Your skills, experience and beyond:

    • Government Sales Experience (Essential): A proven track record of selling enterprise software, SaaS or complex technology solutions to government customers, with an understanding of public-sector buying processes.

    • Local Government Experience (Advantageous): Experience selling to Australian local councils, ideally within Planning, Building or Regulatory. An established local government network is highly regarded but not essential.

    • Enterprise Sales Capability: Demonstrated success by winning high-value deals, managing complex sales cycles and achieving revenue targets.

    • Strategic Relationship Building: The ability to build trusted relationships with senior executives, influence multiple stakeholders and develop long-term customer partnerships.

    • Consultative Selling: Strong commercial acumen and the ability to understand customer challenges, articulate business value and develop compelling solutions.

    • Public-Sector Procurement: Experience navigating government procurement processes, tenders and complex decision-making environments.

    • Learning Agility: The ability to quickly develop an understanding of Objective’s solutions, the local government landscape and the regulatory environment.
    • We welcome candidates with government sales experience across state, federal or local government. Experience in Australian local government is advantageous, but not essential.

What's in it for you?

  • Market-Leading Brand: Join a highly respected, established technology business with a strong reputation in the government sector.
  • Genuine Community Impact: Sell solutions that help councils improve services and interactions with the communities they serve.
  • Strategic Autonomy: Take ownership of your territory and account strategies, supported by experienced cross-functional teams.
  • Growth and Innovation: Work at the intersection of technology, government and regulatory transformation in a business focused on continuous improvement.
  • Collaborative Culture: Partner with knowledgeable teams across Presales, Product, Marketing and Customer Success to deliver strong customer outcomes.
  • If you are a sales-driven enterprise seller with Government experience and a passion for technology-led transformation, we’d love to hear from you.

If you do not tick every box, do not let that stop you. We value potential, learning agility, and diverse perspectives just as much as experience, and we encourage you to apply.

At Objective, we recognise and celebrate our diverse team as pivotal to our strong employee engagement and our high-performing culture, underpinned by Our Values.

We are an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate based on any protected characteristics or on any other basis prohibited by applicable laws in the regions where we operate.

To ensure a positive experience, please inform our Talent Team of any adjustments or accommodations you may require during the recruitment process, so we can support you effectively.
