We’re BDO, a global professional services firm connected to local markets. Our people work together to provide specialist expertise, helping businesses achieve their goals.
We inspire others, to go further. We create together, to reach higher. We build trust, to lead purposefully.
Whether you're building your future or starting your career with us, you won’t do it alone. From creating solutions for our clients to building careers for our people, we shape what matters, and that’s where you come in.
About the Role
We are seeking a Manager to join our Sydney-based International Business Services team.
If you're looking for more than a traditional compliance-focused role—one that offers genuine client engagement, international exposure, leadership opportunities and involvement in sophisticated businesses and investment structures—we would love to hear from you.
Join a team where you'll work alongside international clients, global investors and experienced leaders, helping businesses navigate the opportunities and challenges of operating across borders.
You will play a leading role across a portfolio of international businesses and institutional investment clients, taking responsibility for key client relationships, engagement delivery and team leadership within complex client environments.
You will have the opportunity to take ownership of significant client-facing responsibilities while contributing to the continued growth and development of the practice.
Our Managers are involved throughout the year, working directly with clients, overseas stakeholders and senior decision-makers as part of an outsourced finance function rather than participating solely in an annual compliance cycle.
Our Client Portfolio includes:
- European and international groups operating across sectors including technology, engineering, healthcare, renewable energy and advanced manufacturing
- Global and listed fund managers with Australian real estate and infrastructure investments
- Foreign-owned subsidiaries requiring local finance, reporting and compliance support
- Institutional investors operating through complex investment and holding structures
This provides exposure to both operating businesses and institutional investment vehicles, often involving cross-border reporting, multiple stakeholders and sophisticated governance requirements.
How We Work
Our team becomes part of our clients' broader finance ecosystem, providing:
- Ongoing monthly and quarterly reporting support
- Financial statement preparation and review
- Corporate tax and regulatory compliance oversight
- Liaison with overseas finance teams and stakeholders
- Governance and risk management support
- Process improvement and finance transformation initiatives
- Technology-enabled reporting, automation and AI-driven efficiencies
You will gain exposure to a broad range of systems including SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Yardi, MRI and Xero, while helping clients improve efficiency through innovation and smarter ways of working.
Our Team
- 3 Partners and 4 Managers actively involved in client delivery
- Strong collaborative culture with direct access to decision-makers
- Stable, high-performing team with excellent staff retention
- Clear opportunities for growth and career progression
We work as one team. Many of our clients are significant organisations that require multiple managers and specialist skillsets to support them effectively. Success comes through collaboration, knowledge sharing and building long-term trusted relationships with our clients.
What's in it for you?
- Direct exposure to international businesses and institutional investors
- Meaningful interaction with CFOs, finance leaders and offshore stakeholders
- Leadership opportunities within a growing and specialised team
- Exposure to complex commercial and cross-border matters
- Experience across multiple finance and reporting platforms
- Opportunities to mentor and develop emerging talent
- Involvement in technology, automation and process improvement projects
- A clear pathway for future career development
About you
This role is ideal for a Manager or an ambitious Assistant Manager ready for the next step. You will ideally bring:
- CA or CPA qualification
- 6+ years' experience in Business Services, outsourced finance or a similar advisory environment
- Strong financial reporting and tax compliance capability
- Experience managing client engagements and coordinating delivery across multiple stakeholders
- A collaborative leadership style and passion for developing people
- Strong commercial judgement and problem-solving skills
- Confidence communicating with senior stakeholders both locally and internationally
Experience working with multinational groups, foreign-owned subsidiaries, real estate funds or institutional investment structures would be highly regarded but is not essential.
