Job Description

As the Administration Officer, you will play an important role in supporting the Dean, Student Experience and Employability, as well as the broader portfolio. This is a varied and rewarding position where you will help bring people, projects, and priorities together in a coordinated and efficient way.

You will contribute to a welcoming, well-organised, and responsive environment, supporting the delivery of initiatives, events, and activities that enhance both the student and staff experience.

Working closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders, you will be a key point of coordination and support, helping ensure the smooth delivery of portfolio priorities.

You will:

  • Provide high-level administrative and operational support to the Dean and portfolio team
  • Coordinate meetings, schedules, correspondence, and general administrative functions
  • Support the planning and delivery of events, projects, and student-focused initiatives
  • Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely and professional communication
  • Assist with preparing documents, reports, presentations, and briefing materials
  • Support the coordination of portfolio priorities and contribute to smooth day-to-day operations
  • Maintain accurate records, systems, and documentation in line with University processes
  • Work collaboratively with team members across the portfolio and wider University community
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and service-oriented team culture
  • Support continuous improvement of administrative processes and practices

You are an organised and approachable professional who enjoys supporting busy teams and making things run smoothly behind the scenes. You thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift, and you take pride in delivering high-quality administrative support with accuracy and care.

You bring strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset, along with a genuine interest in contributing to a positive student and staff experience.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience in providing administrative support in a busy office or higher education environment
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to quality and accuracy
  • Confidence using a range of systems, tools, and Microsoft Office applications
  • A collaborative, customer-focused approach and the ability to build positive working relationships
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and contribute to team success

What we can offer
This is a full-time continuing position based at Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan). As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations.

Griffith University’s sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

Salary Range
HEW Level 5 salary range $82,415 - $92,456 per annum + 17% superannuation.
