The Role

We’re looking for an exceptional leader to join our Buildings NSW & ACT team as the Buildings Leader across NSW & ACT. In this pivotal senior leadership role, you will oversee our Mechanical, Structural, Civil, Electrical Building Services and Digital Modelling teams, driving performance, growth, and delivery excellence across one of our most strategically important markets.

You will lead a high-performing service group, creating a safe and inclusive environment where people can thrive. Here’s how you’ll make an impact:

Leadership & Culture

  • Lead a safe, inclusive, and high-performing service group spanning Mechanical, Structural, Civil, Electrical Building Services, and Digital Modelling disciplines.
  • Build trust, accountability, and alignment around priorities, fostering a culture where people are empowered to perform, grow, and succeed.
  • Develop workforce capability, leadership depth, and a diverse succession pipeline to ensure future resilience and growth.

Commercial Performance & Delivery

  • Drive commercial performance through effective workforce utilisation, resource management, and financial discipline.
  • Deliver the service group project portfolio with a focus on quality, safety, and risk management.
  • Lead innovation and technology adoption to enhance business and client outcomes.

Market Growth & Client Relationships

  • Partner with Market Managing Directors, Industry Directors, and Client Managers to grow market share and secure priority opportunities.
  • Take an active role in supporting and delivering the NSW & ACT financial plan
  • Maintain and strengthen client relationships and market presence across NSW & ACT.
  • Bring to life the NSW & ACT Activation Plan and Blueprint through your teams and the projects you deliver.

What are we looking for?

  • Proven experience leading diverse, high-performing teams and delivering complex built environment projects across Mechanical, Structural, Civil, Electrical Building Services, or Digital Modelling disciplines.
  • Commercial acumen with experience in winning work and P&L accountability.
  • Strong capability in commercial management, risk, quality, and continuous improvement, with a track record of delivery excellence across a range of project types and commercial models.
  • Growth mindset with strong market awareness and client insight, and demonstrated ability to grow market presence and secure new opportunities.
  • Highly developed influencing and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage across all levels and collaborate across geographies and cultures.
  • Demonstrated ability to build capability, leadership depth, and talent pipelines across diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong judgement, strategic thinking, and an unwavering commitment to safety, quality, and risk management.

You will translate strategy into clear priorities and action, make commercially sound decisions, and foster a culture of trust, accountability, and collaboration. You’ll lead through influence enabling others to perform, grow, and deliver outstanding outcomes while role modelling the Aurecon Way, our Commitments, and the Ownership Mindset.
