Sentral is a trusted cloud-based software provider managing school administration, student data and parent engagement for over 3,000 schools across Australia. From staff to teachers and parents, our platform removes the administrative burden to enable school communities to focus on student outcomes.  

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for an experienced and customer-focused Business Analyst to join our team and help deliver tailored software solutions for our customers. This multi-dimensional role works closely with a dedicated development team and Sentral Product Owners to transform bespoke client requests into smart, scalable outcomes that align with our broader product vision.

As a Business Analyst, you’ll own the product backlog and lead the definition of user stories and requirements, working closely with both internal and external stakeholders. You'll drive iterative delivery, customer validation, and prioritisation, playing a vital role in ensuring development aligns with both user needs and product strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather and document customer needs using techniques like user journey mapping, emotional mapping, process diagrams, and prototyping

  • Work with Product Owners to ensure requests align with Sentral’s product vision

  • Break down needs into epics and user stories with clear acceptance criteria

  • Lead prioritisation and elaboration sessions with customers

  • Validate solutions with customers throughout the development process

  • Report on estimates, progress, and risks to customers and stakeholders

  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies and support acceptance testing

  • Train internal stakeholders and produce release notes

  • Champion continuous improvement in everything you do

 

SALARY

The for this role is $120, 000 – 130, 000 per annum + superannuation.

You’re a collaborative and customer-focused Product Owner or Business Analyst who builds strong, trusted relationships with key stakeholders. You enjoy working with others, however are equally confident working independently. You thrive in agile, fast-moving environments where your voice is heard, and your work directly contributes to meaningful outcomes.

 

You will bring:

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner in an agile (preferably Scrum) environment

  • Proven success delivering SaaS products for a software vendor

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, both technical and non-technical

  • A proactive, self-motivated mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • An inquisitive nature and a problem-solving approach

  • Full work rights in Australia  

  • Ability to obtain a Working with Children Check  

  • Ability to obtain an Australian Federal Police Check
