As the Business Architect for our Commercial Product Portfolio, you will sit at the critical intersection of product vision and engineering execution, shaping our long-term business and product strategy. Backed by Equifax's global investment in a cloud-native data fabric, you will translate broad commercial initiatives into cross-functionally aligned roadmaps that modernise Australia's B2B data ecosystem.

This position reports directly to the General Manager of Commercial Products, offering a unique platform to mature our architectural capability and design the scalable solutions powering secure, data-driven commerce.

What You'll Do
  • Drive comprehensive market opportunity assessments by engaging with cross-functional internal stakeholders and external customers to articulate a customer-focused vision.

  • Influence product roadmaps and prioritisation to maximise customer value, ensuring planned increments are scalable, robust, and adhere to business architecture principles.

  • Lead the translation of complex business needs into clear, actionable architectural requirements, use cases, and solution-level execution plans.

  • Evaluate delivery alternatives, including build, buy, and partner options, and drive the development of robust business cases.

  • Identify plan dependencies and synergies, partnering across teams to align delivery timelines across the value stream.

  • Own the collection and documentation of functional and cross-functional Business and Technical requirements for product development.

  • Collaborate with delivery partners (Product, Data & Analytics, Technology) to identify, document, and resolve critical technical and commercial trade-offs.

  • Partner with business product managers, Legal & Compliance, and Operations to ensure all requirements align with applicable controls.

  • Manage the holistic performance of the product architecture, tracking KPIs related to revenue, unit cost, and margin objectives.

  • Analyse adoption data and customer feedback to make data-driven decisions regarding competitive product enhancements and legacy system sunsetting.

What Experience You Need
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (Commerce or Business preferred).

  • Product/Architecture Experience: 7–10 years of related product management or business architecture experience within a cloud-based and/or SaaS environment.

  • Alternative Experience Pathway: Enterprise-level Business Analysis experience will be highly considered for candidates without formal Business Architect titles.

  • Methodology Expertise: Proven experience leading large initiatives using pragmatic marketing frameworks, Lean product management, and Agile concepts.

  • Financial & Analytics Literacy: Demonstrated experience tracking and driving financial performance (P&L) for product initiatives, alongside experience managing data structures or data analytics concepts.

What Could Set You Apart
  • Possession of formal Product Management Training certificates (such as Pragmatic Marketing, Customer Value Proposition, or Negotiation with Backbone).

  • Active cloud certifications (AWS, GCP, Azure) combined with experience leading initiatives leveraging AI concepts.

  • Demonstrated capabilities or formal experience acting as a team lead within a highly matrixed global organisation.

Our schedule is built around 4 days of high-impact, in-office collaboration (Monday–Thursday), paired with Friday Flexibility to wrap up your week remotely.
