Job DescriptionWe have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Project Manager to join our Project Management Office, supporting strategic projects and initiatives across NRMA Membership and Roadside.
Working closely with business owners and key stakeholders, you’ll build and lead cross-functional project teams through the end-to-end delivery lifecycle. You’ll bring structure to complex initiatives, provide clear project leadership and ensure the successful delivery of agreed outcomes.
You'll have a practical understanding of both Agile and Waterfall delivery methods and know how to adapt your approach to match the project at hand. While you'll spend most of your time working within a Waterfall framework, you'll be comfortable embracing Agile practices where they add value.
This is a full-time permanent role offers a hybrid work arrangement across our Sydney Olympic Park, Sydney CBD Offices (Minimum 2 days per week) and working from home as agreed and required for the role.
What you’ll do
- Lead complex, cross-functional projects from scoping and planning through to implementation and post-implementation review
- Facilitate workshops, planning sessions and stage-gate activities to keep projects progressing
- Partner with change leaders and business stakeholders to plan and deliver change management, communication, training and business readiness activities
- Manage project risks, issues, actions, dependencies and change requests
- Partner with Technology to coordinate development, testing and release activities
- Prepare clear status, budget and variance reporting for senior stakeholders and governance forums
- Support business analysis, testing and training activities
- Support business proposals and business cases for medium and large capital projects
- Ensure projects meet investment, data, risk, procurement and financial governance requirements
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management frameworks and ways of working
What You’ll Bring
We're looking for a collaborative and commercially minded project professional who thrives on bringing people together, solving problems and keeping momentum strong across multiple workstreams. You'll be an absolute go-getter, someone who loves creating order from chaos and gets a little too much satisfaction from a well-maintained action list or ticket queue. If you're the person who instinctively organises the group holiday, creates the spreadsheet and somehow keeps everyone on track, you'll feel right at home in this role.
You ideally will bring:
- 5+ years project management experience
- Project management certification and experience across Agile and Waterfall environments. PRINCE2 Foundation Certification is highly regarded
- Experience leading complex projects
- Experience leading programs of work involving multiple initiatives or delivery squads
- Release-level management experience
- Strong project planning, governance and reporting capability
- Experience creating and managing project budgets, forecasts, actuals and variances
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills
- The capability to coach and support junior project managers
Fluent in a suite of delivery tools including Microsoft Project 365, PowerPoint, Excel and JIRA delivery tools will be highly regarded. Knowledge of NRMA business operations would also be beneficial.
