Job DescriptionRamsay Health Care is seeking two experienced Category Managers to join our procurement team on a 2-year fixed-term contract. These roles will focus on non-clinical categories across hospital operations, driving value, operational alignment, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement for non-clinical categories including catering, linen services, waste management, facilities management, maintenance, and nursing agencies.
- Develop and implement category strategies aligned with operational needs and organisational goals.
- Engage closely with internal stakeholders across hospital sites to understand on-the-ground requirements and ensure practical, fit-for-purpose solutions.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, including distributors, OEMs, and global brands
- Drive commercial outcomes through negotiation, supplier performance management, and cost optimisation initiatives.
- Support and refine operating models across facilities and support services to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
About You
- Proven experience in category management, preferably within healthcare or complex service environments.
- Strong background in non-clinical procurement categories such as facilities, catering, waste, linen, or agency labour.
- Demonstrated experience managing business services and professional services categories including areas such as records management, labour hire, and agency services.
- Deep understanding of supplier ecosystems including distributors and branded suppliers.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative and consultative approach.
- Ability to translate stakeholder needs into practical procurement outcomes rather than purely theoretical solutions.
