Job Description

Working in the Retail Claims team, this role is accountable for the provision of personal and empathic service to clients and the proficient assessment of life claims in accordance with TAL’s claims philosophy, claims procedures, policy wording, and within stated authority limits.

We are looking for a talented individual with the technical skills and knowledge who want to join in our mission of ‘being by your side for life’ to positively impact Australians.

In this role you will,  

  • Independently manage a portfolio of claims end-to-end
  • Active engagement of key stakeholders to deliver timely outcomes for customers
  • Assess, analyse, calculate and finalize claims payments in a timely and accurate manner
  • Provide exceptional customer service including management of claims, communication and inquiries
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, to ensure the timely and quality management of claims
  • Participation in case conferences, peer case discussions, instructing third party service providers

About You 

To be successful in this role you will have,

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar position involving income protection, life, lump sum, trauma, critical illness, injury, TPD or death claims
  • Retail, Group or Direct claims case management experience - highly desired
  • Ability to build rapport and empathy with customers during difficult times
  • Passionate and driven with a natural willingness to continue to learn

Qualifications

  • At least 1-2 years’ experience in Life Insurance claims management at a similar level with a focus on Retail Income Protection Claims
  • Ability to build rapport and empathy with customers during difficult times and a commitment to delivering proactive, high quality customer service.
  • Advanced time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Health or Allied Health (desirable).
  • Diploma or Cert IV in Life Insurance, or equivalent (desirable).
