Job Description

About the role:

Ignition is seeking a Commercial Analyst, reporting to the Senior Manager - Commercial Finance. This role will support the SaaS and Payments revenue engine by delivering high quality analysis, forecasting support, and reporting across ARR, payments performance and key commercial metrics.

You will work closely with Commercial Finance, RevOps, Data, and the broader Finance team to ensure revenue metrics are accurate, well-understood, and decision-useful. This is an excellent opportunity for an analytically strong finance professional to deepen their expertise in SaaS and embedded payments economics while operating close to senior stakeholders.

What your day to day will look like:

  • Support SaaS and Payments ARR forecasting, including expansion, contraction, churn, payment volumes, and take rate analysis.
  • Maintain and refresh ARR and payments models, ensuring assumptions and outputs are accurate and well-documented.
  • Analyse drivers of revenue performance, including payment transaction economics.
  • Contribute to the month-end close and reporting process, collaborating closely with the full Finance team.
  • Contribute to the annual and quarterly forecast, working closely with regional and functional heads.
  • Support cash burn and balance sheet forecasting, including analysis of key drivers and variances.
  • Provide financial analysis to support functional stakeholders in their decision making

Qualifications

What you need to succeed:

  • 2+ years of experience in a finance, commercial analysis, or relevant role, ideally within a SaaS, FinTech or technology business.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling across Google Sheets with ability to work with and translate complex datasets into meaningful insights.
  • Solid understanding of SaaS metrics and foundational accounting concepts.
  • Curiosity and aptitude for understanding payments (prior payments experience is a plus, not required!)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain highly collaborative relationships.
  • Highly organised, dependable, and capable of prioritising and managing multiple tight deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Information

Why join us:

Join our global SaaS scale-up company where we foster a collaborative, open, and transparent culture and work without ego. Our team comprises curious and intelligent colleagues who embrace challenges. Here's what we offer:

  • Competitive salary package plus employee stock options from day one
  • Annual education allowance to support your professional development
  • Employee recognition program that celebrates impact and contribution
  • Quarterly wellness allowance to support your physical and mental wellbeing
  • Complimentary subscriptions to Headspace and TELUS Health EAP Wellbeing platform
  • Flexible working, supported by work-from-office reimbursement and a mobile allowance to help you set up safely at home
  • Work from anywhere for up to one month each year, with business approval
  • Financial Planning allowance (after all, we are in the accounting business!)
  • Vehicle Leasing Benefits
  • Paid parental leave
  • An extra paid day off for your birthday, plus paid volunteering leave

We aim to keep the process transparent, respectful of your time, and as smooth as possible.

We encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every requirement, experience comes in many forms, and diverse perspectives make our teams stronger.
