The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Specialist with a minimum of 5 years' experience in Defence and Government commercial management or procurement. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, or Finance (or equivalent experience) and possess strong negotiation and communication skills. A current AGSVA Baseline security clearance is essential, along with proficiency in MS Office. Experience with export controls and ITAR regulations is highly desirable.

This role requires expertise in managing contracts, mitigating risks, ensuring compliance with organisational policies, and collaborating across finance, operations, and project teams to deliver seamless project outcomes.

The key responsibilities of the role, but is not limited to: 

  • Oversee all commercial aspects of affiliated contracts, including pre-bid, bid, delivery, and project close-out phases, while managing the development, approval, and organisation of required documentation.

  • Address client concerns effectively, manage subcontractor engagement and due diligence, and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders to mitigate risks and maximise opportunities.

  • Ensure alignment of subcontracts and agreements with project requirements, manage Intellectual Property and Technical Data, and ensure compliance with export controls and ITAR regulations.

  • Support contract performance reviews, ensure contract fulfilment, and collaborate with internal teams to achieve compliance with organisational policies across finance, insurance, and procurement activities.

  • Apply problem-solving skills to address commercial and procurement challenges, ensuring project risks are effectively managed in line with company standards.

As the ideal candidate you will bring:

Essential:

  • Current AGSVA Baseline security clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law or Finance or demonstrated relevant professional experience

  • 5+ years of experience in Defence and Government commercial management or procurement

  • Demonstrated experience in negotiation and support

  • Well-developed communication skills

  • Experienced user of MS Office products.

Desirable:

  • Experience with implementation of and compliance with export controls and the US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
