Job Description

We have a permanent opportunity available for a Communications Manager to join TAL’s Marketing, Communications and Proposition Development team. This team provides strategic and operational support to TAL's Group Life and Retirement business unit through the design, development, and delivery of B2B and B2B2C activities.

As a Communications Manager you will be responsible for the development and implementation of the communications and content strategy for the Group Life and Retirement business. This includes the end-to-end process of content production, review, sign off and publication across multiple channels and for a variety of audiences.

In this role you will: 

  • Work with the Senior Manager, Marketing and Communications to develop a content strategy for the Group Life and Retirement channel that supports all aspects of TAL’s growth and value-build objectives.
  • Leverage integrated content across multiple channels (social media, web, email, print) to build and raise TAL’s profile across the industry and towards targeted segments. 
  • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders across TAL to understand business line objectives and ensure external and internal messages are consistent.
  • Manage all aspects of Group Partner and Member content strategy planning and pipeline including research, revision, production, and distribution.
  • Craft messages and produce content deliverables for all communications channels (websites, newsletters, social media etc) and audiences.
  • Work with the different Account teams to write and review content to support fund communications, campaigns, and member content.
  • Proactively seek opportunities for content creation for the key audience groups and leverage across channels.
  • Proofread materials to ensure all communications are on brand and aligned to the needs of the audience.
  • Develop communications plans with clear objectives and embed evaluation and reporting processes to monitor content effectiveness against communications objectives.
  • Provide general communications and administrative co-ordination and support for broader events management and channel marketing functions as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a Communications, Media, or Corporate Affairs role within financial services
  • Tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, journalism, or relevant field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Proven writing and copy-editing skills, with outstanding command of the English language
  • Demonstrated experience in communications strategy development and execution
  • Ability to translate complex and technical messages into meaningful communications for relevant audiences
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build strong stakeholder relationships
  • Highly responsive and proactive self-starter with ability to execute work independently
  • Ability to manage challenging deadlines, multiple and conflicting priorities
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively and execute with strong attention to detail
