Retail Banking Services (RBS) is the public face of CommBank, delivering a seamless banking experience for the future, to our 10 million + personal and small business customers.
This role sits within the Customer Service Network (CSN) Communications Team. We are part of the CSN Crew. Our team is responsible for delivering operational and strategic communications, executive communications, events, people engagement, and transforming our traditional and digital current communications channels.
As well as running our own communications-specific projects and workload, we support other teams in delivering key strategic initiatives to the business. The work we do is critical in ensuring our customer-facing and support office teams around the country have the information they need to do their jobs effectively and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Do work that matters
As a Communications Manager, you will work as an integral part of the CSN Communications team by:
Assisting with the delivery of communication activities for initiatives being delivered by the team, and responding quickly to incidents and issues as they arise
Owning your own portfolio of communications projects and operational channels, and working with stakeholders across the business to plan and deliver appropriate, relevant, timely communications
Managing the production process (from writing through to proofing, design and distribution) for important resources for our branch network and support teams
Working with external suppliers on a significant strategic project for our people, including maintaining governance materials, running work-in-progress meetings and ensuring any issues are dealt with as they arise, and engaging our people in a consultation process as well as sharing the outcomes with them
Developing and maintaining key CSN digital assets, including the intranet, standard operating procedures, style guides, talking points, Viva Engage channels and Teams channels
Providing writing, editing and proofreading support to the broader team
Providing communications advice and support to other teams across the CSN business
Actively engaging with our stakeholders to improve the way we manage, create and deliver strategic and operational communications
What will help you succeed:
Demonstrated experience in an internal communications role.
Preferred knowledge of retail banking and/or the financial services industry.
Knowledge of and engagement with latest forms of digital, social media and technology-led communication methods
Relevant tertiary qualifications
Proven ability to write clear and concise content and to shape messages to connect with different audiences
Proven ability to create and manage a communications schedule, effectively prioritise work and deliver to deadline in an environment where change is the only constant
Ability to assess the people impacts of changes, connect the dots across multiple projects and BAU initiatives, and propose mitigating communications activities to ensure successful outcomes
People engagement skills and strong stakeholder management
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with and influence senior management
Change delivery experience – ideally in organisational, tech and/or process change
