Our role:
The Database Administrator (DBA)/Engineer (DBE) is an expert in Microsoft SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases and is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining databases for Objective’s SaaS (Software as a Service) application, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.
This role will be a part of the CTO office and does not have people management responsibilities.
A day in your role:
- Design, implement, and maintain databases for optimal performance, scalability, and security.
- Collaborate with development teams to enhance database technology usage and proficiency.
- Develop and maintain database schema, including data modeling, normalization, and denormalization.
- Work with cross-functional teams to meet business database requirements.
- Implement security, backup, and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Optimize database performance, troubleshoot issues, and resolve problems efficiently.
- Maintain documentation, including database diagrams and technical documentation.
- Ensure database schema aligns with application requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and support to product development and technical team.
Your skills, experience and beyond:
- Expertise in Microsoft SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
- Experience with AWS and Azure cloud services.
- Strong understanding of database design, data modeling, and normalization.
- Proficiency with SQL Server Management Studio, pgAdmin, and MySQL Workbench.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and Git version control.
- Skilled in SQL, PL/SQL, and Python scripting.
- Experience in an Agile environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Certification in relevant database technology (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, PostgreSQL Certified Database Administrator)
