Job Description

The Digital Product Manager plays a strategic leadership role responsible for shaping the vision, roadmap, and delivery of digital products that align with broader business goals. This role combines user-centric thinking, commercial awareness, and strong stakeholder engagement to ensure products deliver measurable value to customers and the organisation.

In this role you will: 

  • Define and communicate the product vision, strategy and roadmap that aligns with TAL's growth objectives and broader business goals, identifying opportunities where emerging technologies including AI can create customer and business value.
  • Conduct user research, synthesise market trends, competitor analysis and industry developments into actionable insights. Identify and evaluate AI use cases that solve customer problems or enhance product experiences through automation, personalisation and intelligent decision-making.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through discovery and delivery phases, collaborating with design, engineering and QA to test assumptions, design experiments and iterate on solutions. 
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of products from conception through to retirement, ensuring digital products deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Collaborate with Partnerships and Business teams to develop and execute product launch strategies, driving adoption through clear positioning and value communication.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships across internal teams (Partnerships, Proposition, Risk, Architecture, other delivery teams) and external partners (administrators, superannuation partners, third-party providers).
  • Evaluate and implement AI-enabled capabilities that improve efficiency, enhance customer experience and drive business outcomes. Contribute to improving our robust digital infrastructure including analytics platforms, experimentation frameworks, API ecosystems and personalisation engines.

Qualifications

  • Desirable: 5+ years experience in product management, within the insurance/ technology sector
  • Strong understanding of customer-centric product development including articulating benefits and value proposition
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, ability to adapt to change, build relationships with a broad set of stakeholders, and demonstrate initiative
  • Ability to analyse data and market trends to drive strategic decisions
  • Leadership capability, influencing business stakeholders and mentoring more junior team members
  • Proven track record of delivering successful products in a cross-functional environment including feature specification, Product Delivery, Quality Assurance and working in an Agile environment
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, evaluate and work through AI use cases to determine product fit, technical feasibility and business value
  • Understanding of AI capabilities and limitations, with ability to translate business problems into potential AI-enabled solutions
