Your Team

The Risk & Compliance team is part of CFS’s Legal, Governance, Risk and Compliance Business Unit which is accountable for analysis and strategic advisory, oversight and respectful challenge of the business along with driving the commercial application of the Risk Management Policy, tools, processes and systems. 

Reporting to our Executive Director, Risk and Compliance, the Director, Risk & Compliance will provide strategic guidance, ensure regulatory adherence, and foster a culture of integrity and risk excellence. This role leads a team of both Risk and Compliance professionals, who are the single interface into the business. You will act as a trusted advisor to the CFS business and leads a team of professionals who are responsible for line 2 risk and compliance support.


Your Responsibilities

  • Provide advice and strategic guidance to stakeholders across the CFS Group (including the 
  • CFS Leadership Team, extended leadership team, external stakeholders and Board) in 
  • respect of complex matters associated with financial services risk and compliance 
  • management. 
  • Drive consistent and sustainable implementation of key Frameworks (including but not 
  • limited to the Risk Management Framework and the Compliance Management Framework) 
  • and related policies and standards across the CFS Group. 
  • Deliver on complex business analysis to identify areas of improvement or misalignment 
  • within operating practices. 
  • Work with Line 1 to drive the embedment and adoption of risk practices in accordance with 
  • our Frameworks. 
  • Support robust risk-based business decisions through Line 2 advice and challenge. 
  • Enable delivery of CFS substantial transformation agenda within risk appetite. 
  • Collaborate with the stakeholders to provide quality insightful Line 2 views to the regulated entity Boards (CFSIL and AIL) on current and emerging risks. 
  • Drive proactive regulatory engagement and assurance activities. 
  • Lead the development of compliance dashboards, insights, and reporting packs for the 
  • Executive Director and senior stakeholders. 
  • Deliver fit for purpose risk and compliance frameworks that adhere to regulatory 
  • requirements and management of risk within the appetite of the regulated entities. 
  • Oversee that the implementation of the risk management ecosystem is achieving CFS 
  • strategic objectives within the guardrails of CFS risk appetite. 
  • Enable an ethical risk culture across CFS Group.

Your Capability and Experience

  • Extensive experience in risk and compliance advisory within the wealth management industry is essential 
  • Deep understanding of adviser business models and relationships with platforms and 

    product providers 

  • Deep understanding of super & investments value chains and integrated business models. 
  • Strong business analysis skills 
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking 
  • Deep understanding of customer centric strategies within integrated business models 
  • Proven ability to work with senior executives and Boards.   
  • Exceptional collaboration and influencing skills across multiple functions 
  • People Leadership of Risk/Compliance specialists to deliver business outcomes
  • Change leadership and continuous improvement mindset is highly desirable
