Job Description

Ramsay Health Care is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to provide expert advice and support across workplace relations, employee matters, and people-related risk. Partnering with leaders, People & Culture teams, and employees, you will provide practical and commercially focused advice to support a fair, respectful, and compliant workplace culture. This role will play a key part in managing complex employee relations matters, strengthening leader capability, and supporting positive workplace outcomes across Ramsay. This is an opportunity for an ER professional who enjoys partnering with the business, solving complex people challenges, and making a meaningful impact within a large and purpose-driven organisation. Please note this role can be based in Sydney, Brisbane, or Melbourne.

What You’ll Do

As an Employee Relations Specialist, you will provide trusted advice and support on a broad range of workplace matters, helping leaders navigate complexity while ensuring best-practice employee relations outcomes.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Provide expert advice on employee relations matters including performance, misconduct, grievances, workplace conflict, and disciplinary processes.
  • Manage complex ER cases, including workplace investigations, documentation, recommendations, and resolution strategies.
  • Support leaders with practical guidance on employment legislation, enterprise agreements, policies, and workplace practices.
  • Provide support across industrial relations matters, including union engagement, consultation processes, and workplace change.
  • Identify workplace risks and provide recommendations to strengthen compliance and employee outcomes.
  • Build leader capability through coaching, guidance, and training on effective people management practices.
  • Partner with People & Culture, Legal, Health & Safety, and operational teams to deliver proactive ER solutions.
  • Analyse ER trends and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across policies, processes, and workplace practices.

What You’ll Bring

You are an experienced Employee Relations professional with strong technical knowledge and the ability to build trusted relationships across a complex organisation.

  • Extensive experience in employee relations, workplace relations, industrial relations, or HR advisory roles.
  • Strong understanding of Australian employment legislation, awards, enterprise agreements, and workplace policies.
  • Experience coaching leaders through performance, conduct, and employee relations matters.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to provide practical advice while balancing employee outcomes, risk, and business needs.
  • Strong investigation, report writing, and analytical capability.
  • Relevant qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Employment Law, Business, or a related discipline.
