Optiver is seeking a Project Manager to lead critical enterprise technology initiatives in the APAC region. This role is key to organizing and driving large-scale technology migrations and enhancements, ensuring seamless delivery across technical and operational workstreams. You will work closely with world-class engineering teams and stakeholders to accelerate progress on high-impact projects that support our evolving technology strategy.

Optiver’s Sydney office is one of the primary players within Asian markets, trading a range of products. Established in 1996, we're an active participant on the Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and Japan exchanges, and act as Optiver’s APAC head office. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead Migration Planning: Develop and execute the APAC virtual migration strategy, addressing both technical and operational requirements to ensure seamless transitions for users and systems.

  • Drive Operational Delivery: Oversee technical and operational workstreams, coordinating with engineering teams to maintain momentum, clear blockers, and ensure timely execution of high-value tasks.

  • Streamline Communications: Manage user communications and engagement throughout the migration process, delivering clear and consistent updates to stakeholders at all levels.

  • Coordinate Cross-Functional Efforts: Work across Optiver’s engineering organization to align technical delivery with operational needs, ensuring all dependencies are recognized and resolved efficiently.

  • Accelerate Execution: Identify and optimize migration processes to improve delivery speed and build a scalable, repeatable framework for the broader rollout.

  • Support M365 Adoption: Drive initiatives to enhance the use of the Microsoft collaboration suite (e.g., Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive), improving productivity and team workflows.

  • Standardize Project Practices: Implement project planning, scope management, and retrospective processes to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with Optiver’s global technology strategy.

  • Experienced Technologist: A strong background in enterprise technology, particularly in migrations, integrations, and operational delivery.

  • Strategic Project Leader: Proven success in managing large-scale technical projects, with the ability to anticipate challenges, navigate ambiguity, and deliver high-quality outcomes.

  • Collaborative Problem Solver: Exceptional organizational skills, with a detail-oriented mindset to identify blockers, track dependencies, and drive resolutions across cross-functional teams.

  • Effective Communicator: Clear and concise communication skills to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders, deliver timely updates, and ensure alignment across teams.

  • Action-Oriented Self-Starter: Thrives in fast-paced environments, jumping into challenges with both feet and creating immediate impact through organization and initiative.

  • Adaptable and Resilient: Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with diverse stakeholders, maintaining focus on outcomes while adapting to shifting priorities.
