The Project & Opportunity
Acciona has been awarded the Design & Construct contract for the Singleton Bypass. This major project will see construction of 8km of single lane highway with approximately 2.5 km of bridge structures and upgrades to local intersections.
As a Finance Analyst, you will maintain, monitor, and improve the systems, ensuring costs and forecasts are accurately known and controlled. This position is crucial in ensuring the accurate application of financial systems and procedures, which in turn enables precise tracking and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop standardised cost control procedures, guidelines, templates, and coding for consistent cost management and reporting within the team.

  • Create and maintain project cost reports throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Utilise established cost control procedures, including WBS, monthly reporting, change control, budget management, forecasting, and financial support for contract administration and project cost closeout.

  • Monitor budget and expenditure changes, providing regular updates on project status to assist Engineers and the broader Project team in decision-making.

  • Support Engineers in various tasks such as progress claim assessment, pricing schedule development, tender evaluation, contractor change assessment, and contract financial closeout.

  • Use earned value management tools to analyze data and offer insights on project performance. Investigate unusual trends in cost codes, dockets, and invoices.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor's Degree in Commerce/Business (or similar)

  • Demonstrated experience of implementing cost control systems and procedures in large infrastructure projects

  • Experience analysing high-volume data sets
