The Financial Accountant will prepare month-end close, manage reconciliations, support audits, and enhance financial processes with technical guidance.
About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented Financial Accountant with a strong technical background to join our finance department for a Fixed-Term contract. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role offers ownership of key financial processes and technical challenges. The successful candidate will be a highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive individual with strong analytical and communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparation of month end close including journals, reconciliations and variance analysis
- Bank and balance sheet reconciliations including intercompany accounts
- Process and review of commissions, billing and trade creditor payments
- Provide technical guidance in accordance with accounting standards
- Support in year end audit processes including year end adjustments and financial statement note preparation
- Contribute to process improvements within the finance team to enhance efficiency and accuracy of financial accounting
Skill and experience required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA or CA qualified
- 3+ years in an accounting role
- Proficient in general ledger and financial reporting systems, preferably with experience using Netsuite
- High attention to detail and the ability to follow through with request for information
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to improve process efficiency
