GENERAL SUMMARY:
Working closely with the Finance Manager, this role is responsible for a broad range of financial accounting duties, including financial reporting, preparation and maintenance of general ledger, month-end and year-end closing, budgeting and forecasting, internal controls and compliance, Taxation, and supporting the business team.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the Finance Manager to oversee finance activities of ANZ business
- Prepare and post journal entries including payroll journals, expenses, accruals, prepayments, consolidation elimination, one-off large transactions. Ensuring monthly results are reported accurately and on a timely basis
- Prepare monthly P&L and Balance Sheet variance analysis and commentary
- Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations, resolving discrepancies, ensuring data integrity and collaborating across functions (both finance and non-finance)
- Conduct thorough reviews of intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of finance processes and controls subject to internal and external audit
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, SOX regulations, and company policies by monitoring and enforcing internal controls and procedures
- Assisting in the development of annual budgets and monthly forecasts by gathering and analyzing financial data from various departments
- Taking a lead role in the year-end financial statement audits, ensuring all support is accurate and provided to the external audit team in a timely manner and addressing additional audit queries
- Prepare and upload payroll tax returns monthly
- Prepare and submit monthly tax information to Fluke Corporate Tax
- Prepare and submit quarterly ABS returns
- Prepare GST/BAS & FBT returns and lodgments and assist with tax audits and tax returns
- Manage accounts payable, overseeing China Shared Services
- Providing ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required and participating in finance-related projects
- Analyze and recommend improvements where required
REQUIREMENTS:
- Qualified Accountant (CPA, ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
- 8+ years commercial experience in Financial Accountant roles demonstrating great progression
- Continuous improvement mindset – a willingness to embrace change and evolve
- Strong understanding of Australian Taxation and various accounting standards
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Familiar with ERP system, Oracle knowledge is a plus
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Show an ability to take the initiative and problem solve
- Energetic and self-motivated
