We're looking for a HR Business Partner to join our high-performing People & Culture team for a 12-month contract based out of our new Sydney CBD office location from Q4 this year. This is an opportunity to partner directly with senior leaders, influence business strategy, and drive meaningful people outcomes across a dynamic and purpose-driven organisation. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to leaders, partnering on organisation design, leadership capability, talent planning, workforce strategy, employee relations, change initiatives, and culture transformation.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as the primary strategic partner to the business, developing HR strategies, needs assessments and resulting HR solutions. 
  • Responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of all HR programs and services and driving the HR agenda within the business  
  • Establishes, builds and maintains strong relationships with key HR partners from all Practice Areas and Service Centers to ensure elements of HR are successfully coordinated to meet business needs: including relationship management, leadership, HR roles/responsibilities, and service delivery commitments. 
  • Lead high-impact people change programs. 
  • Be the ambassador of the HR organisation to represent the services and resources available to the business and help manage the collective reputation of the HR organisation as a whole. 
  • Coordinate and implement HR strategies to meet organisational needs of a major segment of the business. 
  • Ensure actions and delivery of Practice and Service Centers align with overall HR strategy and meet the needs of the business. 
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant local country legislation, regulations, policies and practices. 
  • Provides expert consultative and problem-solving services to managers, employees and other HR functions regarding HR policies and practices, performance management, and other ER areas. 
  • Report any adverse event within 24 hours as per AbbVie’s policies and procedures. 
  • Proactively participate in AbbVie’s WHS programs, adhere to policies and promote a safe work environment at all times. 
  • Adhere to AbbVie’s codes of conduct and compliance processes, including timely training and maintaining ethics and integrity. 
  • Other ad hoc duties such as administrative duties, as requested. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related field.  
  • +4 years as a Human Resources generalist partnering with commercially astute client groups.  
  • Experience working within complex matrixed and contemporary environments. 
  • Strong collaborator capable of influencing and building credible relationships with stakeholders, including senior executives.  
  • Demonstrated understanding of organisational development activities preferred. Significant breadth of understanding of functional HR roles and responsibilities and impact on the business.  
  • Confidence and well-developed consulting and problem-solving skills.  
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.  
  • Solid understanding of legislative frameworks.  
  • Proactive desire to provide exceptional service to your customers.
