Job Description

The Key Account Manager at Mondiale VGL is responsible for owning, developing, and growing strategic client relationships, ensuring exceptional service delivery, commercial performance, and long-term partnership value. The role combines deep freight forwarding and supply chain expertise, strong commercial acumen, and strategic relationship management to act as a trusted advisor to clients while protecting and enhancing Mondiale VGL’s commercial outcomes.

Acting as the daily interface between Mondiale VGL and the Customer, delivering a seamless and professional service that meets and exceeds the Customers’ expectations. Working closely with all departments internally, you will be responsible for ensuring that all KPI’s, targets and expectations advised by your customers are always met. You will be responsible for identifying organic sales opportunities by ways of research and networking with the objective to increase profitable growth for your client portfolio. Maintaining and developing long term relationships with key clients and ensuring all information is maintained in Client Intelligence accurately.

At Mondiale, you will go beyond traditional account management. You’ll act as a strategic advisor to your clients—leveraging deep market intelligence, operational expertise, and supply chain insight to drive performance, unlock value, and support long-term growth.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of key accounts, ensuring service excellence, retention, and profitability
  • Build strong, multi-level client relationships and act as the primary point of contact
  • Lead proactive account management, including regular reviews, reporting, and QBRs
  • Translate global market trends, disruptions, and opportunities into actionable client strategies
  • Oversee onboarding, SOPs, and ongoing optimisation of client supply chains
  • Monitor financial performance, margins, and commercial outcomes at both shipment and account level
  • Resolve escalations, manage exceptions, and ensure seamless end-to-end service delivery
  • Collaborate closely with operations, sales, and global teams to deliver consistent outcomes

What you’ll bring:

  • 4+ years with strong end-to-end freight forwarding expertise across multimodal movements
  • Deep understanding of PO management, supply chain flows, and operational best practice
  • Commercial acumen with experience managing margins, P&L, and pricing strategies
  • Confidence navigating complex logistics scenarios, customs, and compliance requirements
  • Ability to interpret market intelligence and provide strategic advice to clients
  • Advanced systems knowledge, including freight platforms, reporting, and visibility tools
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a strong sense of ownership
