Purpose of your role
We have a new opportunity for a Legal Counsel to join our Global Legal team. This role will be an integral part of our team with a key focus on vendor contracts, ASX company secretarial support, privacy compliance and supporting business growth in the region.
What you do
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of commercial contracts.
- Providing legal advice to the business in relation to a variety of commercial, privacy, licencing and regulatory matters.
- Assisting with Company Secretarial matters.
- Assisting with review and sign off on marketing content for print, social media, radio, television in APAC.
- Assisting with the drafting and review of partner/enterprise agreements in APAC.
- Proactively identifying, escalating and advising on legal and regulatory risks.
- Drafting and reviewing internal policies/procedures to ensure consistency and regulatory compliance.
- Working collaboratively with members of the global Legal Team and business stakeholders on global initiatives.
- Support the global Legal Team to develop and manage processes and procedures to drive efficiencies.
What you bring
Qualifications
- Law degree with superior academic credentials from a nationally-recognised law school.
- Current practicing certificate
Knowledge, skills, experience
- PQE: 2 to 5 years.
- Experience as a lawyer in a major law firm desirable.
- Previous inhouse experience is beneficial but not essential.
- Experience in financial services desirable but not essential.
- Experience in legal research, drafting and providing general commercial legal advice.
- Excellent analytical, written and oral communication and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to develop expertise in new or unfamiliar areas of law.
- A commercial and pragmatic attitude.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to work independently and efficiently in a demanding, face-paced, fluid environment handling multiple tasks and projects concurrently while maintaining the highest standards and attention to detail.
