Gerson Lehrman Group (GLG) is seeking a Business Development Professional to oversee the growth of their Corporate & Government book of business. Building, developing and growing new business and existing accounts you will be responsible for revenue generation, market penetration and expanding GLG’s footprint in the Australian and New Zealand marketplace. 

GLG BDEs in our client-facing offices are responsible for:

  • Identifying and bringing on new clients in Australia and New Zealand. Key skills will be the ability to identify, research and understand new business opportunities for GLG, brokering relationships with them, utilising resources from sales enablement, marketing and events, aligning the right mix of GLG products and converting them into clients.
  • Partnering with Events, Marketing, Sales Enablement and Service Delivery with the intent to engage prospective clients, drive value to those prospective clients through a sales cycle and ensure that they are aligned to GLG’s business and servicing model, have clear expectations and a firm understanding of how value will be derived from the relationship.
  • Take ownership of strategic decisions around product positioning, pricing, and the allocation of internal resources to support sales in marketing campaigns and events. Act as a strategic sales leader, making decisions that balance revenue, client value and return on personal and team effort.
  • Developing organised marketing activities. Plan and hold formal client facing and virtual meetings, as well as one on one client meetings with a view to maintaining and growing GLGs book of client business.
  • Work as part of a high performing team that balances a performance-standards with fun, collaboration and a human approach to work.
  • Enhancing the GLG brand in Australia and New Zealand. Developing relationships across the industry, and acting as a mature, personable face of GLG in the market.

Required Skills:

  • Gerson Lehrman Group (GLG) attracts employees from the most distinctive professional and academic backgrounds
  • Must have 3-5 years of proven sales experience in Australia market
  • Consultative, value-based selling approach with experience selling and managing subscription-based relationships
  • Genuine interest in sales, building new value propositions and winning in competition
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial skills, with a clear focus on Sales, revenue growth and business profit
  • Outstanding communication skills and a team player
  • Experience interacting with senior executives within Corporate and/or Government
  • Segment experience will be highly valued in Federal or State Government, Banking or Mining
