About the opportunity
Join our new Radio R&D center in Yokohama
Would you like to help integrate and verify the next generation of Ericsson radio products, combining technical depth, practical problem-solving, and close collaboration across the product organization?
BNEW Radio & Transport Engineering (RTE) strives to be the most competitive Radio Network R&D unit in the industry. We work in an agile setup to develop and maintain competitive, high-quality radio products that secure future growth for our customers, across LTE, WCDMA, GSM, NR/5G and the evolution toward 6G.
As a Radio Node Integration Engineer, you will join the IVC (Integration, Verification & Certification) organization at the Japan R&D center in Yokohama, part of Ericsson's global RTE organization. You will work in a highly collaborative, international environment with colleagues across Systems, Customer Experience, Hardware Integration, Verification, and test-environment development.
About the opportunity
We are looking for passionate and driven engineers at different experience levels to help shape the performance and market readiness of Ericsson's next-generation Radio products. IVC is the final step in the development cycle of new Radios, including activities carried out with regulatory bodies and authorities to support approvals and certifications that enable market access.
Within Customer Investigation and Node Integration (CNI), you will translate system and product requirements into integration and verification solutions, ensure that Radio hardware integration and performance verification meet system requirements and industry standards, and help develop robust test methods that deliver the performance customers expect.
Join our Team
What you will do
  • Act as a critical interface-the "glue"-between Systems, Customer Experience (CX), Hardware Integration, CNI test teams, Verification, and Test Environment development.
  • Test Radio products early in the development cycle and integrate them into the I&V test environment to ensure readiness for further verification phases.
  • Translate Product Introduction (PI) requirements into clear integration and verification specifications, test methods, and practical verification solutions.
  • Ensure that test systems, environments, methods, and documentation are updated and capable of supporting new Radio products and test requirements.
  • Participate early in development phases and drive pre-studies of future requirements, influencing testability, integration readiness, and performance-verification strategies.
  • Provide Radio technical expertise in complex troubleshooting and customer investigations with CX and Radio SW/HW maintenance teams; reproduce faults and drive efficient analysis and solutions for critical customer cases and escalations.
  • Test customer scenarios and configurations in the R&D lab before rollout, set up test environments, and perform RF measurements and validation using lab instruments and digital signal-analysis tools.
  • Analyze test results, generate test reports, support integration and execution of test cases, and investigate test-system issues to drive resolution and continuous improvement.
  • Support customer deployments during First Field Implementations (FFI), share knowledge, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to cross-functional teams in a Lean/Agile environment.

What you will bring
  • A B.Sc., M.Sc., or equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • A solid understanding of RF and Radio fundamentals, including wireless systems, RF measurements, instrument handling, and digital signal analysis.
  • Knowledge of baseband and Radio product concepts and relevant standards such as 3GPP, ETSI, CE, FCC, and Telec.
  • A solid understanding of Radio systems and Radio performance verification, with experience in Radio hardware integration, testing, or verification environments.
  • The ability to translate system and product requirements into practical integration, test, and verification solutions.
  • Experience working across organizational boundaries and collaborating with multiple stakeholders in development and product-engineering teams.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, curiosity, and a practical, problem-solving attitude.
  • Programming skills for test automation and tools development are a plus.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork abilities, with the ability to work effectively in English. Japanese collaboration capability is a strong advantage.
  • A result-driven, service-minded, and quality-focused approach, with the motivation to drive continuous improvement in Lean/Agile processes.
