The Role
BGIS is seeking a skilled Plasterer to join our Self Perform team, delivering high-quality plastering and general maintenance works across commercial client facilities.
 
In this role, you’ll carry out preventative and reactive maintenance, including plastering, patching, wall and ceiling repairs, and general handyman works. You will be responsible for hanging and fixing plasterboard/drywall, setting and finishing joints, installing cornice and decorative mouldings, and preparing surfaces to a high standard ready for painting — ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to BGIS quality standards

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Carry out plastering and wall/ceiling repairs across commercial sites
  • Hang and fix plasterboard/drywall sheeting
  • Set and finish plasterboard joints to a smooth, paint-ready finish
  • Install cornice and decorative mouldings
  • Prepare surfaces including cleaning, levelling and base coating
  • Perform minor painting and general handyman works where required
  • Respond to reactive maintenance requests
  • Complete work orders within required timeframes using BGIS systems
  • Ensure all works comply with WHS, compliance and quality standards
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders
 
Your Education, Experience & Skills
  • Certificate III in Wall and Ceiling Lining
  • Construction Industry White Card
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence
  • Clear Police Check or ability to obtain one
  • Experience in plastering within building/construction environments
  • Strong attention to detail and quality finishing skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience using maintenance management systems (desirable)
  • Handyman experience in painting, carpentry or general repairs (desirable)
  • Australian working rights (essential)
