About the business/role/team
Reporting into the Senior Manager, Project Delivery, you will be a key part of the Project Delivery Section which is responsible for the delivery of a range of workplace related projects including fit-out construction and modification, asset infrastructure, and security. 

The RBA operates a diverse range of physical assets that include support for nationally important operations and infrastructure in high reliability and including offices and high security environments. 

As a Portfolio Finance, Reporting and Controls Manager in the Bank’s Workplace Department you will be part of the Project Delivery Section providing oversight, coordination and support for Financial Management and Financial Reporting. Although primarily focussed on portfolio finances, the role also includes oversight and coordination of non-Financial Reporting, Governance and Projects Controls at a portfolio and project level, ensuring continuous improvements supporting the integrity, suitability and accuracy of project information.

About the role

  • Financial/Commercial Management

    • Supporting a portfolio of projects in excess of $20M annually comprising multiple streams and project types.

    • Project Financial Management, ensuring the financial status of each of the projects in the portfolio is accurate and material variances are identified and explained

    • Supporting the financial components of business case preparation 

    • Supporting the project managers in budget management and purchase order oversight

    • Understanding and delivering project finance reporting monthly, quarterly, and annually for the portfolio, including annual budget setting.

    • Experience supporting Project Teams provide current and accurate reporting (across project CapEx and OpEx).

  • Portfolio Reporting and PMO/EPMO Governance Support

    • Supporting project teams manage their EPMO governance requirements and reporting across a portfolio.

    • EPMO and Governance support – including completing, submitting and tracking documentation (Project Change Requests, Business Cases, Stage Gate Approval Submissions, Monthly EPMO Forecasting Reports and Monthly EPMO Status Reports and others) to support the teams

    • Being the team's 'expert' on internal EPMO reporting processes, assisting with governance and reporting including document preparation (which may include business cases, change requests and other similar documents).

    • Key milestone reporting including procurement/tender, as well as project stage milestones to support and inform Procurement and other Business Partners

    • Experience tracking Governance documents, resulting governance actions, and approvals across a portfolio.

    • Support project teams with preparing and coordinating Steering Committee Reports, ad-hoc EPMO deep dive reports

  • Maintain the Sections Project Management Framework Tools and Templates

    • Experience managing systems and tools that comprise a Project Management Framework - i.e. Sharepoint, Templates, Process and Procedures lists etc.

    • Working with Business Partners to facilitate timely updates and revisions of templates and guides.

About you
 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills and experience

  • Strong ability to foresee and add value to systemic issues and interdependencies.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong skills in Excel, Business Intelligence and other analytical tools

  • Experience in Office 365 suite, including SharePoint.

  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships across multiple teams.

  • Experience in building and communicating shared benefits, exchanging best practice and creating win-win outcomes.

  • The ability to present ideas in multiple ways to promote understanding.

  • Ability to navigate changing priorities, ambiguity and uncertainty, translating abstract ideas into actionable plans.

  • 5 or more years' experience as a Project Finance Manager,  Project Controls Manager, or equivalent role.
