Job Description

The Position

The Procurement Manager will lead the end-to-end procurement and category management for complex, high-value equipment, systems and subcontract works across energy, transmission, and infrastructure projects. The role is accountable for developing category strategies, managing supplier relationships, and executing major tenders and contracts to deliver innovation, value for money, and risk-controlled outcomes supporting the Acciona pipeline of Projects under Tender and Delivery.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement for major project technically complex packages, ensuring timely and compliant contract delivery, providing commercial and technical guidance to project teams across multiple business units
  • Manage and nurture key supplier relationships to ensure high performance, innovation, and reliability of supply, representing project and business interests to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment
  • Guide the team in applying structured engagement approaches to meet stakeholder and project objectives, developing and implementing supplier performance review frameworks and improvement initiatives
  • Apply advanced market analysis to select appropriate procurement models that optimise cost, schedule and quality, developing long-term category and supplier strategies in alignment with corporate objectives
  • Lead category performance reviews and develop procurement dashboards to support leadership decision-making, analyse market intelligence, benchmark data, and supplier KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Analyse historical bid data and litigation outcomes to provide insights for improving future bids and legal strategies
     

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Post Graduate qualification in Electrical Engineering and Business Management 
  • Minimum 15 years' experience in complex CAPEX procurement, in the energy, mining or infrastructure sectors
  • Demonstrated experience with equipment and complex systems acquisition in substations, transmission lines and power transformers 
  • Proven and deep experience in manage HV transmission and substation category and procurement activities
  • Proven experience managing teams and leading end-to-end procurement for high value, technically complex systems
  • Solid oral and written communication skills together with excellent interpersonal skills, including an ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to support business needs
  • Demonstrated experience in Electrical systems acquisition (transmission and distribution substations, transmission lines) through turn-key contracts
