About the role

We are looking for a Product Manager – Payments to join our Product team in Sydney.

Money movement sits at the heart of every investing experience. Before customers can invest, they need confidence that moving money into, out of and around the platform is fast, reliable and effortless. Every deposit, withdrawal, transfer and FX transaction plays a critical role in building that trust.

As Product Manager – Payments, you'll own one of the most important product domains at Stake. You'll be responsible for the experiences and systems that power how customers move money across our platform and products. This includes some of the highest-volume, highest-trust and most commercially significant journeys across the business.

You'll work closely with Engineering, Design, Operations, Risk, Compliance and Finance to shape the future of Stake's money movement capabilities. From customer experience and conversion through to controls, reliability and commercial outcomes, you'll have end-to-end ownership of a domain that directly impacts every customer and millions of dollars in daily transaction volume. We work hybrid spending 3 days in our beautiful, dog-friendly Sydney office.

What success looks like

Within your first two years at Stake, you will have:

  • Built a clear product strategy for Payments that aligns customer needs, business priorities and long-term platform evolution.
  • Delivered meaningful improvements across deposit, withdrawal, transfer and FX experiences that increase customer trust, conversion and engagement.
  • Established a roadmap that balances customer experience, operational efficiency, risk management and commercial outcomes.
  • Reduced friction across key money movement journeys while maintaining strong controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Improved the reliability, performance and scalability of Stake's payment infrastructure and customer experiences.
  • Built strong partnerships across Engineering, Risk, Compliance, Finance and Operations, creating alignment around shared outcomes.
  • Introduced measurement frameworks that improve visibility into customer behaviour, conversion and commercial performance.
  • Become a trusted product leader who influences how Stake thinks about customer trust, money movement and financial infrastructure.
You’ll thrive here if…
  • You have experience owning product outcomes and can independently drive initiatives from discovery through to delivery and iteration.
  • You combine strong customer empathy with commercial and analytical thinking.
  • You’re comfortable making decisions in complex environments with competing priorities and constraints.
  • You know how to bring together diverse stakeholders and create alignment around a clear product direction.
  • You care deeply about execution quality and take ownership of outcomes, not just outputs.
  • You enjoy solving challenging problems that sit at the intersection of customer experience, operations, technology and risk.
Bonus if you’ve ever
  • Built payments, banking, money movement or financial infrastructure products.
  • Worked in fintech, investing, financial services or another highly regulated environment.
  • Owned products involving compliance, controls or operational risk management.
  • Worked on FX, transfers, transaction processing or customer onboarding experiences.
  • Partnered closely with engineering teams building platform or infrastructure capabilities.
