NEP Australia is currently looking for a Production Guarantee / Technical Manager (Hub) to be responsible for leading the delivery of broadcast productions within NEP’s Hub environment — ensuring seamless execution, high-quality output, and superior client experience.

The position

This role is based on site at NEP’s Hub facilities, which are at the forefront of centralized and remote broadcast production, delivering world-class content through cutting-edge IP infrastructure and global connectivity.

The Production Guarantee acts as the primary client-facing technical representative, providing day-of-production leadership, coordinating between production teams and technical staff, and ensuring all systems, workflows, and personnel perform to NEP standards.

The Production Guarantee / Technical Manager supervises Hub-based operations during live productions, guaranteeing that the technical, creative, and client expectations are achieved efficiently and reliably.

This full time position working on live sports broadcasts includes regular weekend and evening work when Tier 1 sports are being played.

Key Responsibilities but not limited to:

Client & Production Liaison

  • Serve as the main point of contact for production clients on-site or remotely during live Hub operations.
  • Translate client production requirements into actionable technical workflows and staffing plans.
  • Manage client communications during setup, rehearsal, and live broadcast — ensuring clear updates, confidence, and proactive support.
  • Collaborate with Production Managers, Directors, and Engineers to align on production deliverables and contingency planning.
  • Support client feedback, issue tracking, and post-event reporting to ensure continuous improvement and strong relationships.

Operational & Technical Management

  • Supervise all technical operations within the Hub during assigned productions, ensuring delivery aligns with broadcast standards and client expectations.
  • Oversee the configuration, readiness, and performance of systems including video, audio, routing, replay, comms, and IP infrastructure.
  • Coordinate operational teams (e.g., Vision, Audio, EVS, NOC, Transmission) to ensure synchronized execution of live events.
  • Monitor the flow of signals and data between Hub, OBs, and remote locations — ensuring reliability, redundancy, and compliance.
  • Lead operational readiness checks, rehearsals, and live transmission monitoring.
  • Escalate and resolve technical incidents swiftly, balancing client communication with technical troubleshooting.

Supervision & Team Leadership
  • Act as the on-shift operational lead for assigned Hub productions.
  • Supervise, guide, and support operators, engineers, and workflow specialists during live productions.
  • Provide hands-on mentoring for junior staff and freelancers on systems and client service standards.
  • Ensure clear handovers between shifts, accurate documentation, and adherence to daily production schedules.
  • Foster a collaborative, respectful environment focused on excellence and accountability.

Planning & Coordination
  • Participate in pre-production planning sessions with NEP’s production and engineering departments.
  • Review production briefs, technical riders, and resource allocations ahead of each event.
  • Coordinate with engineering to schedule maintenance, testing, and setup in alignment with production timelines.
  • Contribute to post-event debriefs, technical reviews, and client feedback sessions.
  • Support scheduling and resource planning for Hub operational staff.

Quality, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure NEP’s technical and operational standards are consistently upheld across all productions.
  • Maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and quality control documentation.
  • Uphold NEP’s broadcast compliance, safety, and data management policies.
  • Promote safe working practices and ensure technical setups comply with WHS and electrical safety standards.

Required skills and attributes:
  • Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in live broadcast or technical production environments.
  • Proven experience in a client-facing, supervisory, or guarantee-style role within broadcast operations.
  • Strong understanding of Hub or centralized production workflows and IP-based broadcast systems (SMPTE 2110, Dante, MADI, NMOS).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-pressure, fast-paced live production environments.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams (vision, audio, replay, comms, and transmission).
  • High proficiency in fault diagnosis, operational coordination, and incident management.
