The Project
The MQ-28 Production Uplift Project will deliver a new facility, a new workforce, a new supply chain, and new internal processes, practices, and procedures for Boeing Defence Australia.
This high-profile project represents the largest investment Boeing Defence Australia has made in its history, and will be the first time Boeing builds a complete aircraft production facility outside of the USA.
The project will deliver in phases from 2026 (the facility), through 2027 (the assembly capability), and 2028 (the carbon fibre fabrication capability).
The Opportunity
Boeing Defence Australia is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and integrate the teams delivering this project.
Reporting to the MQ-28 Production System Director, the role will lead the Production Uplift Project leadership team and support the Director and senior functional managers to make decisions related to the overall success of the Project. The role will be responsible for allocation and control of cost, schedule, RIO and change processes on the project to ensure that the business goals are met.
Boeing deploys a capability model, and this role will include direct leadership of a small team of project managers leading critical cross functional elements of the scope, and indirect leadership of several enabling function roles.
The role will include conducting briefings and report outs to high level executives and stakeholders including interfacing and integration with the MQ-28 Program Team and Boeing functional staff and leaders related to the project.

Key Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in business, business administration, commerce, change management or a related field with relevant industry qualification.
- Demonstrated communication skills, including interpersonal, presentation, negotiation, and analysis/reporting skills.
- Demonstrated track record of team leadership and personnel development
- Demonstrated experience in managing large scale, complex projects to successful and timely completion.
- Experience in the management of sub-contractors and awareness of contracting mechanisms.
- Demonstrated experience in financial, contracts and trade control management for large projects in the Defence industry.
- Excellent understanding and demonstrated experience in the application of project management best practice principles.
- Australian citizenship and eligibility for an Australian Department of Defence security clearance to Secret level and satisfaction of ITAR requirements.
