CMC Markets Stockbroking (CMC) provides retail and wholesale stockbroking services including trading, clearing and settlement of transactions across global equities, options, funds and cryptocurrencies.  CMC also provides white and grey label platforms and services to a number of banking and intermediary partners.  We offer an award-winning trading experience to customers through a continuous focus on technology development across three proprietary front ends (including mobile apps) as well as ensuring efficient and stable back-office systems and processes to run the business.

 

About the role

As a Project Manager you will lead the initiation and execution of projects across the CMC ANZ Programme. This includes supporting B2B projects or discrete business, legal or compliance projects. The role will provide project management capability across the ANZ programme. This includes supporting B2B projects or discrete business, legal or compliance projects.


You will own and manage project activities that deliver business and technology solutions, enabling CMC to achieve its business benefits and outcomes. You will be engaging with stakeholders across the business, external vendors, and partners to ensure delivery is on time and to specification. Work across range of projects including compliance, remediation, enhancement, and new business projects. internal stakeholder facing projects as business strategy demands.


 CMC adopts an agile approach to project delivery for the majority of projects. This is a hands-on role and the Project Manager is expected to adopt a hand-on approach to delivery. This role would suit an experienced project manager with 5-6 years experience from a financial background who is dynamic and flexible, able to pick up new projects, own them end to end, and drive them forward successfully. You will posses strong project management fundamentals=, including best practice and governance. Able to pick up and manage different types of projects.

What you’ll be working on?

  • Define project scope, objectives, milestones and deliverables with stakeholders
  • Turn business needs into clear project plans aligned with the business roadmap
  • Coordinate internal teams, external partners and vendors to keep delivery on track
  • Monitor progress, manage dependencies, and report on risks and issues, escalating when needed
  • Maintain project plans, status reports and other key documentation
  • Work with business analysts, developers, testers and business stakeholders to deliver quality solutions that meet requirements
  • Support business case preparation and document project outcomes and expected benefits
  • Plan training and rollout activities, with a focus on operational readiness and solution stability
  • Apply business change management principles to support adoption
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews, capture lessons learned and apply them to future projects
  • Coordinate with Marketing to deliver project branding, collateral and client communications on time
  • Follow CMC Markets’ compliance guidelines, regulatory requirements and data protection standards, obtaining Legal and Compliance approval where required

What will help you be successful?

  • 5–6 years  experience managing projects or delivering technology solutions, ideally within financial services
  • Strong project management fundamentals, including governance, planning and delivery best practice
  • Experience working with both agile and waterfall methodologies and across the full software development lifecycle
  • High proficiency in Jira and Confluence
  • The ability to manage multiple projects in parallel and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with close attention to detail
  • Clear communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders at all levels
  • A hands on, self motivated approach, with the flexibility to take ownership and drive projects forward
  • Experience leading teams to deliver high quality outcomes within tight timeframes
  • An appreciation of client experience and website usability

Desirable

  • Experience in wealth management, retail or institutional stockbroking, banking, or online trading
  • Familiarity with AWS Cloud
  • Experience with ASX or CHESS
  • A project management qualification, such as AIPM, PMP or PRINCE2 Practitioner
  • An Agile qualification
  • A business or technology degree, or equivalent experience
