Job Description

We are currently seeking passionate Psychology or Rehabilitation Counselling professionals to join the IPAR team at Coffs Harbour NSW. This role offers flexibility, autonomy and the support of our experienced, multidisciplinary team.

As a Rehabilitation Consultant at IPAR, you will have exposure to a wide range of schemes including Workers Compensation, CTP, Life Insurance, Comcare, Department of Veterans’ Affairs and employer‑funded programs. You will deliver occupational rehabilitation services to clients with a variety of physical and psychological conditions, helping them achieve sustainable return-to-health and return-to-work outcomes. No two days are the same, and your work will make a meaningful difference.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a manageable caseload with support from Rehabilitation Assistants
  • Apply your clinical expertise to improve return-to-work outcomes
  • Partner with employers and employees to deliver injury prevention and workplace education programs
  • Collaborate with injured workers, employers, insurers, and healthcare professionals
  • Conduct a range of clinical and vocational assessments, including:
    • Initial assessments
    • Workplace assessments
    • Functional capacity assessments
    • Activity Daily Assessments (ADL)
    • Vocational assessments
  • Identify barriers and design practical solutions to support recovery and return to work

Qualifications

You'll be a driven and energetic professional with hopefully all of the qualities below!

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology or Rehabilitation Counselling
  • General or Provisional registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA); or
  • Eligibility for Associate or Full membership with Australian Society of Rehabilitation Counsellors (ASORC); 
  • Previous experience working in Occupational Rehabilitation industry would be highly regarded;
  • Fabulous communication skills - there is a lot of getting to know your clients and stakeholders!;
  • Compassion and kindness always go a long way as does empathy;
  • It's the kind of career where well developed time management skills are a must & plus!;
  • A current NSW Driver’s License and access to own car with comprehensive insurance is a must.
