This role is a 12-month max-term contract with a possibility to extend.
Your Team
The Risk Transformation team is part of CFS’s Legal, Governance, Risk and Compliance Business Unit which is accountable for analysis and strategic advisory, oversight and respectful challenge of the business along with driving the commercial application of the Risk Management Policy, tools, processes and systems. The Risk Transformation team is currently establishing a risk transformation project, aimed at further optimising risk management through a range of digitisation and automation initiatives such as continuous control monitoring, control testing automation and integrated risk assessments. You will have the opportunity to be part of the CFS’s risk transformation journey from the beginning. We are aiming to establish an integrated project team comprising of contingent risk SMEs like yourself and our existing line 1 and line 2 risk SMEs, co-delivering the future of risk at CFS.
Your Responsibilities
Design and deliver end‑to‑end risk solutions that align with business strategy, using technology, automation, and process enhancements to drive uplift with pace and accountability.
Use critical thinking, strong problem solving and data led insight to design the future state of Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSAs), Risk Matters, Obligations, KRIs, and control testing outcomes backed by deep analysis.
Conduct complex business analysis to diagnose problem areas, identify improvement opportunities, and resolve misalignments in operating practices through structured analysis and process mapping.
Apply a good understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g. licensing, conduct, privacy, financial crime) to ensure solution designs and delivery outcomes remain compliant and aligned to industry obligations.
Partner with Line 1 and Line 2 risk and compliance team stakeholders to embed and adopt risk practices that align to CFS Frameworks, supporting sustainable change and driving adoption.
Engagement with stakeholders by facilitating workshops, eliciting and balancing conflicting requirements, documenting clear current‑ and future‑state processes that trace directly to Work Stream Scope whilst maintaining progress against the critical path.
Design fit for purpose risk and compliance frameworks that that meet regulatory expectations and align with risk appetite, ensuring practical, scalable, and outcome focused delivery that consider impacts to users and sustainable adoption.
Support the delivery of a scalable, centralised control testing capability, including standardised testing templates, partial or fully automated testing, and the use of operational and system metadata to enable continuous assurance.
Enable and contribute an ethical risk culture across CFS Group by encouraging transparency, accountability, applying a solution‑oriented mindset.
Your Capability and Experience
- Significant years of experience in risk and compliance advisory, ideally in financial services or other highly regulated environments, with the ability to translate complex risk problems into practical delivery outcomes.
- Experience in project or transformation delivery, demonstrating an end‑to‑end mindset and the ability to deliver with pace, energy and accountability.
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience supporting strong professional judgement and analytical discipline.
- Highly developed analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving capability, to think quickly diagnose issues and shape clear, actionable solutions supported by deep analysis.
- Be curious and have a growth-oriented mindset, actively seeking new ways of working, emerging technologies and innovative approaches that make a positive difference.
- Strong business analysis and delivery capability, including structured problem solving, requirements translation, and process mapping/design.
- Excellent prioritisation and execution skills, able to manage competing priorities effectively in fast‑paced environments.
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate at senior levels, confidently engaging executives and working effectively across teams, functions, and operating models.
